Balneário Camboriú (Portuguese pronunciation: [bawneˈaɾju kɐ̃boɾiˈu]) is a major beach resort city in the Brazilian southern state of Santa Catarina. The city, with its steep hills dropping down to the sea, is popular amongst South Americans. The main ocean boulevard is called Avenida Atlântica (Atlantic Avenue). Balneário Camboriú is famous for the cable car which (uniquely in the world) links the city's central beach and the beach of Laranjeiras. The city is located 10 km (6.2 mi) south of the city of Itajaí, 96 km (60 mi) south of the city of Joinville, and 80 km (50 mi) north of the state capital, Florianópolis. The city has a population of 124,557 (2014 census office estimate), which swells to over one million in the summer.

excellent food, cooked and presented to perfection, generous portions. You order a main platter that serves two to three people, and this comes with four or five accompaniments. We ordered the filet mignon with rustic potatoes, and the picanha platters. with five people we were unable to eat it all!!! this came with rice, lettuce, tomato, palm hearts and olives and a potato salad. also on the menu were fish and seafood platters, we saw others around us with these and they also looked very colourful and generous portions. the natural fruit juice was good. you can also sit on the beach itself and the waiters come down to where you are and take your orders. pleasant atmosphere with the sound of the waves and brazillian music.

Went here today (Sunday night, kind of quiet) to sample what I heard was a decent variety of brews - about 20 listed on the blackboard...(I'm assuming they make it themselves, since all had names like "MD-Weiss", "MD-Irish Red Ale", etc.....Didn't ask...Anyway...) had the Weiss / Hefeweizen, which was pretty good, then two glasses (300 ml) of the "American Red' (good hoppy flavor)...Didn't want to pound down much more and then walk the 1+ mile back to hotel w/o several pit-stops....Bartenders/ waiters were pretty cool...Food-wise, had the "Mad Dwarf Premium Burger" (or some such name)....Decent fare.....Beer was a bit pricey considering just 300 ml (or smaller) servings, but was tasty (and I'm on vacation, so so what)...More used to US (or Canadian) brewpubs where you'll get a good, full pint (US or imperial) for about 6 bucks or less....Also, they could use a good website that's not just accessible via Facebook....But, hey, if you're here in Baln. Camb, and enjoy good beers, this place isn't a bad choice. (Remember, though, closed Mondays...Sundays, opens at 6 PM)

If you are looking for some extra good braziian (or other) beer, if you are looking for some up scale people watching, beach watching, and some great music, this is the place, right in the centre of Av Atlantico. Great service, the food is OK (not great, best if you are not that hungry). They play samba music on the beach in front and have live bands in the week ends. Of course this place has Av Atlantico prices.

This is a place that we visit almost every month, when we are in the city. Excelent service and very interesting gourmet combinations (not only fish, for those ones that are used to the other fish oriented restaurants). It is a fancy place. Oubviously that during the peak season you might face lined to get in, but once you get a table, I am pretty sure that you will enjoy it.

As the title says, I had an incredible experience eating Didge's Pork Ribs in Baln. Camboriú! Very very tasty! They also have now an innovative virtual menu, so you can order dishes, drinks and call the waiter by the app (they give you a personal card with QR code + samsung tablet so you are able to use the application). Good music, good people, good vibe! Ahhh and they have Soda Antarctica!!! It's my fav soda ever and unfortunately very difficult to find noways in mostly of bars : /
