New management .so we gave it a try.Order taken quickly 6.45 pm .We had Doner kebabs and extra meat with salad mix kebabs ,chips and chicken .Asked to come back at 7.10pm arrived and food all packed up and ready to go ,free bottle of pop thrown in .food was nice and hot .tip take cash and thermal bag .

a local family member booked us all in , 2 weeks before and after spending 7hrs on the road a family of 15 including 4 young children ,, we was shown to our table , then we waited 20mins for our drinks order to be taken , i myself ordered a diet coke , i was asked did i want the unlimited refill ,which i had , the lady bought the drinks out and it was pepsi , i asked for diet coke , she said yes i have given you diet pepsi , i said i never asked for that , then she said we only sell pepsi , i suggested maybe she should have asked if that was ok, im unable to drink pepsi , so sat with a glass of tap water , and had paid extra for refill that i wouldnt use and was never offered a refund, then she said she would be back for our food order , 30 minutes past and we now have tired and hungry children , we ordered food after chasing down a memeber of staff ,who came and took our food order , we waited another 30/40minutes and the food was horrendous , think they tryed to cook our food so we could all eat together , some food had been clearly re heated , i had halloumi salad and i could have knocked someone out with the halloumi it was burnt and rock hard , the mixed grill was asked to be rare which the steak was but the all the other meat for was over cooked and reheated , my daughters pork chops , and so was the burger, they were not overly busy and we had booked weeks in advance so knew a large party was in, ive been told it under new management and maybe just teething problems , We are so sorry that you have been left disappointed, it is true that we have a new manager and we had some staff from other pubs helping us out today to cover holidays. But we donât make excuses, and we have high standards for ourselves and for our customers, this time we have clearly not hit the mark and I can only apologise.

I visited today with a friend. The service was friendly, efficient and totally geared to our need to have a relaxed lunch. I have developed an intolerance to gluten and ordered a pizza with a gluten free base. It was excellent - by far the best gluten free pizza base I have had (and I've eaten plenty!). Additionally we benefitted from the 50% off food deal on Mondays. Thanks to all involved.

We were looking for food at 6.30pm on a Friday night while passing close to Oakham. We had been recommended this place. What a great recommendation. Liked the quirky layout plus the cricketers wallpaper. Liked the way they did the food ordering and the food was excellent. Fish and chips for me, best chips for a long time and crunchy tasty battered fish. Pie for my husband, delicious.

After a friendly greeting, the service slowed down a little and was scanty later in the night. The food is good. Scampi rings were from the freezer I'd guess, but the rest was good and well flavoured and presented. Portion sizes about average. I'd not 'go back' for a special occasion, but as a reliable 4star Italian it's recommended. Perfect if you are staying locally and just need good food with little rush or fuss.
