Nuevo Arenal is a town and district in Tilarán Canton in the Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica. It is located on the north-east shore of Lake Arenal. The former village of Arenal near the La Fortuna area was inundated in 1978 with the formation of the artificial Lake Arenal. Nuevo Arenal was a government project to relocate the displaced people. Nuevo Arenal is located about a one-hour drive northwest from the original village along a beautiful paved lakeside road that goes from La Fortuna to Tilaran.

We tired this place based off the previous reviews. Other than the sign out front it would be easy to miss. Great, friendly service and we took away a large cheese and large pepperoni pizza. Easily fed a family of 5 with left overs. All family members gave good reviews. The pizza crust was a little thicker than most of the pizzas we have tried which was a nice change. Great job.

My husband and I are from Santa Barbara, CA. we own a home in Nuevo Arenal. We Frequent the Bambu often. The local cuisine is tasty, the pizzas are delicious, the atmosphere is down to earth, has great character, and fun. The owner, Randal, and his wife Maritza are absolutely wonderful, including the rest of the staff. It's a true "Pura Vida" experience!! Enjoy!!

The food was so good and very high quality ingredients! They really go the extra mile with their presentation as well! I ordered the Mountain Man salad which had grilled eggplant and zucchini. It was cooked to perfection! My husband had a pizza which was also delicious. I love the little dishes they bring to accompany every meal. They include homemade pesto, Parmesan cheese and homemade hot sauce (hot), all delicious! Connie provided great service and spoke English very well! We highly recommend Moya’s!
