We came by for lunch on our way from Elverum to Oslo.Elgstua is a classic roadside taverna and is perfectly placed where the R3-highway goes north from Elverum.We had tasty moose burgers with creamy cabbage. Delicious, quickly delivered and very filling. Huge portions.

We spent several days at the hotel so had many breakfasts and one very special dinner at this restaurant. The breakfasts were buffet style, with many options including gluten- free. The dinner ( recommend reservations) was a gourmet delight. The green salad had many interesting ingredients & flavors, different from my American palate but totally wonderful. Hubby & I both had moose as the entree. There are not enough superlatives to describe it. The meat was tender and flavorful, again, with some different ingredients. The staff was very helpful and most spoke English well. I highly recommend this place for a special dinner.

Vi var sju personer som åt olika förrätter och huvudrätter och alla var nöjda, torsken med risotton var delikat. Servicen var bra och miljön lugn och gemytlig.
