Oh, my! What a great find! We stumbled onto this wine bar quite by accident and we just LOVED it! The owner and all of the staff were so helpful in helping us make fabulous wine selections (they have SO many choices). The atmosphere is Old World and very inviting. We were there on one rainy day and it was magical. We ended up having both lunch and a light dinner here and such great care was taken in the preparation and presentation of our meals. I highly, highly recommend stopping in here during a visit to Bellagio!

This wonderful wine bar is also a store, and they serve food, so it's a great place to go for an afternoon snack with wine, get some wine to take away, or have an after dinner drink. The friendly staff here are well-versed in their large wine selection. We really enjoy learning about local wines as we taste them, and here is ideal for that.

Eines voraus : sind die Betreiber selbst anwesend ,ist man im Garten Eden ! Herzlichkeit ,gepaart mit gutem Essen und angenehmer Stimmung vom primo colazione bis zum cena ! Sehr zu empfehlen Dann der Schock : leider sind die beiden nicht mehr die jüngsten ,treten dann und wann kürzer und überlassen das Feld ihrem SpröÃling ,einem lahmarschigen tätowierten Clown ,dem seine Handykorrespondenz wichtiger ist als die Gäste ! Sollten die Betreiber nicht anwesend sein ,empfehle ich fluchtartig den Laden zu verlassen !!! Schon am 1. Abend als er "mitarbeitete " zeichnete sich das Drama ab . Am 2. Abend als er das "regiment" führte bestellten wir aus MiÃtrauen heraus einfache Speisen : Spaghetti mit Sardellen und 1 Pizza . Meine Spaghettzi kamen nach knapp 1 Stunde , gleichzeitig bekam ein Kumpel des Mitarbeiters der 45 min nach uns kam dieselben (Da meine Portion am Vortag doppelt so groà war vermute ich dass ich die des Kumpels mitfinanzierte ! ) Meine Frau bekam keine Pizza statt dessen Leute die 45 min . nach uns kamen frittierte Zucchini Blüten !!! Es waren keine 20 Gäste im Lokal !!! Die täten gut daran ,den Trottel zu enterben ....

We went to the restaurant early in the evening and they were not very busy on their terrace. The service was pretty fast and the food was very good and at a great price. The only odd thing was the fat they wanted us to order pasta in pairs (two people minimum with the same parts dish) because the kitchen was "crazy". It was a weird request but the pasta was actually very good.

Staff extraordinarily friendly and helpful. Suggested 3 dishes of which we had 2 both of which were amazing. Made gluten free pizza as requested which was fairly good. Starter plate of meat was excellent. Air conditioning not strong enough which meant it was very warm.

Lunch with friends. Delicious, well-prepared, and authentic regional dishes (Valtellina). I had "sciat" (small fried cheese balls), pizzoccheri (buckwheat tagliatelle) alla Valtellina, and then osso buco for the main course. There were so many of my favorite dishes that it was hard to choose. The service was friendly and professional. The restaurant itself is comfortable, bright and airy. A pretty property with ample parking. It is located above the eastern "leg" of Lake Como with a lovely view of the lake, mountains and towns on the opposite (eastern) shore. I hope to return on my next rip to the area.

We had arrived in Lierna after more than 24 hours of travel. Il Crotto looked inviting. We were greeted by the owners, ate al fresco with complimentary Procecco. Our meal was outstanding with the owner explaining that each dish including the desserts were all made in-house. What an outstanding ending to a full and tiresome day.

Read my review of the apartments to rent next to restaurant for a full review. Bottom line - our party of carnivores, vegetarians and vegans were all full to the brim and more with the most delicious food possible. And think about it, if you stay overnight, you won't have to walk down the hill in the dark full of the best food and alcohol!
