It serves as both the capital of the department of Chimaltenango and the municipal seat for the surrounding municipality of the same name. Chimaltenango stands some 35 miles west of Guatemala City, on the Pan-American Highway. The municipal capital produces textiles and pottery and is also the home of the Rose Education Foundation, a non-profit organization working to make educational opportunities available to children living in rural areas in Guatemala.

Good food, ans nice place.BUT they charge different prices on the bill than on the menu AND signs on the wall (eg Gallo charged Q20 instead of Q15 as mentioned in the menu and on the wall). The waitress said that it's the boss's decision, but what proves it? Was she just ripping me off?That's shameful, illegal, and ruins the whole experience.Sadly a well spread practice in Guatemala.Thank you so much for your comment,that was very nice of. And because of your comment I was able to find out that my staff has been dishonest, and over charging our customers. I'm truly sorry and will give back what she over charged you. And if you are still in town or come back you will have a free beet. Thanks agian

Simple but delicious menu. Do a few things and do them well. The al pastor tacos were amazing and I love adding the amounts of cilantro, onion, pico and sauces I want. The three sauces, a chipotle/garlic, a slightly spicy guacamole and a pretty hot smoky red were perfect toppers. And the horchata was one of the best Iâve had.

The photo shows their amazing meal which 3 people could share. I've never had anything else there, because that's the bargain that can't be obtained anywhere else in Antigua. Mainly young people go there because of the noise, but get a lunch, as it's less noisy, and bring your friends with you.

A good mexican restaurant in Antigua Guatemala. They offer tacos, burritos quesadillas and enchiladas, nicely served. The place is very small so it is hard to find a table for a party grater than 4.Thank you very much for your wonderful comments! My husband and I came here for dinner. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. We got margaritas, grilled octopus, and chicken tacos. The food was good. Service also good. The only thing I didnât like is that they let outside vendors come in. There was a little boy selling candy table to table. The music was also shut off for a few minutes while a guy with a karaoke machine sang loudly in the front and then came around asking for money. Maybe this is common in other restaurants too, or they didnât have much of a choice, but either way it made the experience not as great. Hello, thank you for your kind review! I am very pleased you liked our food and margaritas. Indeed itâs difficult for us the vendors problem. I do think is a problem but sometimes even some clients call them and itâs embarrassing for us to send them out. With this review I definitely will put more attention to this problem. The grounds of this place are beautifully landscaped with tropical plants and flowers; there is a nice playground for children on the lawn. You can smell the delicacies cooking in the outdoor smoker. Some of the cleanest restrooms you will ever behold are just outside the dining room. Inside is an ambience and warmth you would find in the home of a friend. Monica and company are SO welcoming and nice. Her parents are from Switzerland and she speaks several languages. The wine selection is better than most, and they have the little splits which are perfect for lunch. The local cuisine is out of this world, tasty, and excellent. I had some scrumptious chicken and my companions had beef. We started out with a tasty home made soup. I would love to go back there and try other menu items.
