Prior to visiting Villa Romana del Casale, we stopped for lunch at Sicilamo. The sandwiches were freshly prepared and to our delight they also catered for our son who is coeliac and made him a glutten free sandwich. The service was fantastic and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Being August and very hot, we were also grateful of a rest in the shade prior to visiting Villa Romana.Would definitely recommend eating here and/or having icecream.

Great price and excellent value. Their pastas were superb, and going by the number of people eating there you wouldn’t bother eating anywhere else.

I love this little lunch spot. It has become my favorite place to eat in Piazza Armerina. You can pick from a large variety of hot dishes behind the counter, including baked pastas, involtini, a large selection of vegetables prepared different ways, seafood, soup, veal, potatoes, etc. When you order, your selection is taken to the kitchen to be reheated. You can also order from a variety of pasta dishes, which are prepared in the kitchen. The chef emphasizes the quality and freshness of local foods. One time he showed me some fresh mustard greens and asked if I'd like to try them. (Little did he know I grow them in my garden at home.) He cooked them up in olive oil with garlic and brought me a large plate. Sosta & Gusta is open daily for lunch, either eat in or takeout. The service is very good and very friendly.

Actually we choose the place because they open already at 6pm, but it turned out to be a very good choice. We had the best grilled gamberoni of the entire trip, 7 giant specimens. The sogliola was very fresh, 7 very small and very tasty fish babies.Good house wine and very friendly staff.

TRINACRIA offers you the typical Sicilian cuisine, all products served are strictly local, grown and harvested in the surrounding rural areas or at most sourced exclusively from Sicily.

This restaurant is very convenient to stop for a meal when visiting the Roman villa. The parking is free. The menu offers two prefixed meals at €15 and €20, as well as a reasonably priced a la carte menu. The service is very pleasant and the scenery is beautiful farm fields. The food is traditional Sicilian fair with both fish and meat options. We chose this restaurant based on high ratings and reviewers specifically saying the food was great. I have to disagree on that. The pasta was over cooked, pork knuckles were way too salty, caponata not bad, chicken ok. Perhaps we should have gone with the seafood options, but being that this restaurant is not on the coast we figured meat dishes would be better. The meal was not terrible, but certainly not worthy of the 5 stars it currently has on TripAdvisor.

This small husband and wife run trattoria was recommended by our B&B host and we were delighted with it. On a distinctly cool April night we took one of the three tables indoors and although neither of them spoke any English we got on fine with the help of my wife’s Spanish. The very tasty food is cooked from fresh, was well worth the modest wait and was reasonably priced. No frills but genuine character, with that personal touch.

I never imagined a Michelin Star Restaurant in a small town. Yet, there it was. A casual elegance. Excellent service, lovely food, presented artistically. A wine list that satisfies the best conousseur. I would recommend it for business dinners, couples and family reunions, not with young children. Complimenting this restaurant is a small parki g area.

Hands down, the best arancini in our two weeks of travelling around Sicily because they were light and crispy on the outside and stuffed full of delicious ragu which was, rightly in our opinion, the star of the show. The cannoli, whilst not right at the top, were absolutely delicious too.

Little local restaurant with great wait staff. Simple menu. The swordfish was dry. The bread was nothing special. The roasted potatoes were good. The spinach was pretty bland; I had to season it with salt and pepper to give it some flavor. I was unimpressed by the food.
