We turned up in a large group on the spur of the moment and they were extremely accommodating- moving tables, helping with separate ordering and billing for 5 families! A lovely setting where the kids can play on the beach if they finish while the adults eat at a more leisurely pace.

We made a reservation for dinner via Faceboook and received a confirmation that our reservation was accepted. When we showed up at the restaurant, we were told very vociferously that they do not accept reservations even though I showed them the confirmation on my phone. Not sure if it is a language miscommunication. I could see that there was a table with a reservation sign on it. Decided to change tactics and asked them for a table for 7 people and they sat me at that table. Not sure what is going on.Food was delicious, wine was good and the portions very large. The prices are extremely reasonable. Highly recommended but be careful of the reservation issue. I see another reviewer had a similar experience.

Excellent. Langoustines in broth, grilled aubergine, flank steak, pork ribs --- all were well cooked and well presented. Much above the usual Split standard.A bit off the main drag, but well worth a visit. You'll need to book, sine it's small and (deservedly) popular.

Walked in through City Entrance ( Big Statue ), young lady offering Menu just inside- polite , not pushy:First left and we entered an atmospheric courtyard: Restaurant on the left , checked out the Menu and another delightful Lady explained the menu .We were ready to eat and picked a table :My Wife had a risotto and I had a Chicken Dish : Both were great with a couple of beers: Service was great and two coffees and Gelato complimented the meal nicely: Pleasantly priced and would come again:Recommend definitely:

My husband and I were on a holiday in Split and had been on a day trip to Dubrovnik getting back quite late. After a quick shower and a pre dinner drink at a local bar we went here for a pizza. We also ordered a salad and were most impressed that it was delivered with our pizza as we have been to so many places that have brought it out first. We like to eat salad with our pizzas.Great meal and service was spot on.Dear Suehawthorn, thank you for your time dedicated to share your experience at Portas! We sat outside a short distance from the ocean. Although we could not see the water as it was dark, we could hear the waves as we ate our meal. We shared a tuna tartare starter, which was outstanding. The best were the white fish dishes cooked over a wood grill- so fresh and delicious. We saved room for the delightful fig and goat cheese desert.

We wandered past one night and felt the enjoyment emanating from the front door. Waltzed inside and chanced upon a table opening up. The super friendly waiter took control of the whole deal, made sure we had the shared seafood pan which was massive and awesome. Made our night and was really great food. Lovely wine too. Prices are always great in Croatia so excellent value. Do try it.

Located 5mns from the city walls, the restaurant can accommodate both indoor or outdoor dining, on their enclosed patio.We had:o seared tuna appetizer: this was truly delicious, cooked to perfection (which means slightly undercooked inside).o gaspacho (cold soup): very nicely done.o lamb shank: very tasty, if perhaps not as tender as I hopedo pasta dish: nicely doneTheir red wine (by the glass) put me back on friendly terms with Croatian wine and was very reasonable.Service was very good and the whole dinner was more affordable than I expected.Would definitely return.

Great setting on a small square with comfortable outside seating.Very friendly staff and great service.Menu has something for everyone but not a huge selection which was helped us make our choices.Definitely worth the walk to get there and enjoy a pretty setting in the old town.

Spent a whole evening with my 7 friends at Konoba Nikola! I made the reservation 2 days before with is to recommend! The Location is a little bit of but really worth the trip! We felt very welcomed when we arrived at the resturant, the food was beyond our expectations! Superfresh seafood with compliments that really tasted like a high class restaurant(trust me,all of my friends work as chefs!) the wine was ok, nothing special and not a surprise! We had the 4 course meny with extra conpliments. Good prices to I would highly recommend this place!
