We arrived here on the word of locals and were not disappointed. The staff were most helpful in meeting requests and we followed their suggestions. While not extraordinary, the food was very well-prepared, the house wine was good. The bill for the evening was most reasonable.

We were delighted that we were still welcomed for lunch even though it was after 2:30 when we arrived at the restaurant. Delightful waitress who made excellent wine recommendations. For two of us, the seafood dish, meant to be shared, was more than enough for lunch and an excellent way to try a variety of dishes. The tuna tartare was excellent, as were the mussels and the thinly sliced pear and octopus was magnificent. The third found the sea bream baked in foil very tasty. An enjoyable lunch, highly recommend.

Tastefully modernised old building, very elegant and classy inside but not intimidatingly so. Cold glass of Prosecco on arrival and menus in English, half the menu is formal dining and half the menu is pizzas. The chef, Mario Graziano Manconi is passionate about provenance of ingredients, and the menu is full of regional products, sausages from a particular village, artisanal cheeses, handmade pastas, ancient grains. The menu showcases all the best food this region has to offer, cooked in exciting and interesting ways. We loved this restaurant so much we ate here twice over a weekend, and drove all the way from Lecce just to eat here the second time, itâs that good and fantastic value, a very reasonably priced lobster dish actually had half a lobster in it. Our favourite dishes were the pasta dishes, unusual pastas we had never heard of before like Paccheri and Busiate with intense sauces bursting with flavours like smoked aubergine and cave aged cheese (not together!). Some words got lost in translation on the English menu, so it is best to try to translate the Italian menu if you can rather than wholly trust the English menu, for instance ginger on the English menu actually turned out to be fennel. Also it would be helpful if the menu stated if the dish takes a long time to prepare, I chose a sea bass dish which was baked in a salt crust which takes at least 20 mins, had this been stated on the menu I would have ordered it ahead instead of having a long wait. The desserts are divine here too, a semifreddo sphere that melted when bitter hot coffee was poured over it was exquisite. Well chosen wine list also. We will make a beeline to eat here whenever we are in this region, Mario Graziano Manconi loves his job, loves showing off the amazing food on his doorstep and best of all loves sharing his passion with others.Thank you very much for your comments. We are very happy that our typical dishes, reinterpreted in a creative key, are to the taste of guests visiting our town. See you soon!

We would like catering to be our forte and our dishes to full of warmth and joy, local tradition and culture, and simplicity. At the table you will find orecchiette, ciceri e tria, spaghetti schiattati, ricotta fresca, polpette al sugo, zucchine a scapece
We stayed Lo Prieno near Galatone for two nights which we would have extended if we had had more time. We came here because we had read about it in a cookbook called âSaluteâ. Maria welcomed us with coffee and took time to show us around and to explain all about the working olive grove we were staying at. The room was basic but clean, large and very comfortable with flyscreens and a pedestal fan so we had no trouble sleeping with the cool breeze at night. The room was a 3 min walk through the olive grove to the dining area. Breakfast consisted of coffee and home-made pastries and breakfast cake or bread sometimes straight out of the oven. We booked for dinner both nights and as we were the only guests this early in the season, Maria cooked for us. It was excellent, something not to be missed if you are interested in local cuisine. Vito explained the significance of the foods and the local wines. They gave us advice on where to drive and which local towns to visit for interesting sights. Wifi was provided when we asked. If you like to stay off the beaten track in an authentic location where little English is spoken and there are few tourists, if you love food and are open to a âcucina poveraâ experience, this is the place.

I've been to li papi a few times now - never disappointed! In August we were sat in the garden, under olive trees. The atmosphere is very relaxed, not too casual, an ideal place for friends to have a meal out. There is always plenty of food and I can't think of anyone having left the table hungry! I'd definitely come back!

Nestled in an ancient palace dated back to the 18th century in the hearth of Galatina, in the province of Lecce, our restaurant Anima & Cuore is a really nice and confortable restaurant, with its starry vaults and mosaic floor which remind of the local hi
This restaurant was highly recommended by our hotel and the setting on the rooftop was beautiful. We did not have a reservation but we eat early (7:30 )and we were seated right away. The food was OK but not our favorite and the wine was nice but pricey. Lots of staff around but we had to pour our own wine which was weird. Buone cose Alessandro De Pascalis
