Visited Square sparrow for a late night dinner with my friends. Being christmas week, they had nice live music (though was a bit loud for our taste). We found this place from the fantastic reviews on Trip Advisor, and it lived up to our expectations. Setting was beautiful, surrounded by a gorgeous garden and lit pool. Food was delicious and a welcome change to curry!! We had garlic bread with cheese to start followed by Arabiata pasta, Mare pizza and a green side salad. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We ordered veg lasagna and mama mia pasta and was delicious. The owner was constantly making sure we were pleased with the food and service. We enjoyed a nice evening with friends. Went to this, what you would loosely call a restaurant. Waited 45 mins for our meal. We donât mind waiting if the food is good, but it was appalling.The curry I am convinced was out of a packet, barman clearing tables with cigarette in his mouth. Service very poor. Complained about the quality of the food and was met with silence. Give this place a wide berth does not live up to the reviews on this site, makes you wonder whoâs writing them.

Firstly, the photographer has done an excellent job in clicking pictures of this place. We were totally enamored by the pics and those influenced us to get to Purple Martini. Now, in reality, the place looked fairly run-down and beat up. The tables and floor were wet and I suspect the rains would have played spoilsport to the place. There was water dripping from some places. But let these not be a deal-breaker for you. All I am sating is, the pics are far better that the place. The place is not very large but comfortable. It has a narrow but long 'deck' which has excellent views of the ocean and the sunset (therefore). The view is the highlight of the place. We were initially disappointed that the menu did not have a lot to offer, however whatever we ordered was done pretty well. The prawns were outstanding! Service was quick and the waiters were hospitable. One particular waiter (who was attending to us) was really nice and went all out to make our stay great. The place also has a little TT table just in case you would like to play a hand. Overall, I recommend the place if you are in & around Anjuna. But don't stress yourself out by especially making a trip to this place, if you are far.

Everything we had was good, especially the beef carpaccio, salmon tartlets and home-made mascarapone gelato.The owner Mario will make recommendations, just say yes to whatever he suggests, even the scarpetta (literally means little shoe for some reason but is actually freshly baked bread) at the end to mop up the olive oil and sauces on your plate. The chef is his wife Simona whom you will probably want to thank a million times during your meal. A very, very satisfying meal!

The place is simple yet rustic and some of the dishes in the english breakfast menu are must try. The seating is open with temporary covered roof, which was leaking at few spots upon my visit as it was rainy season. The taste of the dishes is really authentic and portion size is adequate. The breakfast is not heavy either on stomach or on pocket.The menu ranges from Egg, Pork, Fish, Sausages and vegetarian. They even have a small shop for some souvenir shopping.Many thanks for the nice review. We do not serve any non-vegetarian dishes and are primarily vegetarian apart from serving eggs and tuna.
