We visited this place when we arrived in Italy on the first evening, it was late and it was the first place we came across. With just an Italian menu and some help by Google Translate we ordered! It was delicious! The pizzas were gobbled down by the kids and my Pasta (Matriciana) was delicious. Definitely recommend!Grazie per la vostra recensione.Un ringraziamento da parte di tutto lo staff de Le Contrade

Hubby and I know the area well and wanted a low key lunch someplace we had never been before on our anniversary. Found good reviews of Le Papere online and we were not disappointed. Food was fresh, delicious and served with care and a smile. I had pasta with clams that was superb and different from the usual spaghetti alle vongole because their's had a sprinkling of ground pistachios in the sauce and was made with strozzapreti instead of spaghetti - inventive, sophisticated and delicious. Followed up with fried shrimp and calamari that were fresh, light, crisp and perfectly salted. Only regret was that we didn't have space for desert. Will be back to try the millefeuille that looked delicious. Oh and when we mentioned it was our anniversary as we were leaving, the owner gave us a bottle of prosecco to take home for the evening -- really kind and classy gesture. We look forward to going back.I remember very well of you and your sympathy! many times thanks for all you have written for the restaurant and to have noticed our inventiveness in the courses. So see you next time and greetings! Marco - 3939779365

The restaurant looks just up to "ok", some of the chair covers were stained. The waiters were unhelpful and clumsy. We were not offered a taste of the wine (which is a normal standard) and the bottle was just left on the table. The starters:Antipasto di terra consisted solely of few cured meat slices and a chilly jam to pair with god knows what. The sauteed mussels were just not fresh. The Mains:Fried shrimps were apparently good.Fried lake fish was horrible, if you know the different species you would have realized that two out of three were not what was written on the menu. The lowest bit was the batter, bright yellow, tasted like frittata, IF and I say IF it was handmade I heavily question by who and what training he/she has on cooking. We have never been asked if the food was ok.The prices are absolutely stellar high compared to what is served.Though but absolutely accurate.

This unpretentious, family-run trattoria specialises in locally sourced food, served unfussily with respect for the quality of the ingredients. Much of it is the characteristic cucina of the Lazio hill country — hearty pasta and meat dishes, incomparable salumi — but there is also fresh fish from the lake. The wine is good and inexpensive, and the atmosphere relaxed. The husband-and-wife team who run it are genuine and friendly. There was absolutely nothing fancy about the lunch we had here but it was one of the standout meals of our year.

Cantina del Drago

Since Cantina del Drago opened, it has come on in leaps and bounds. Probably a year since we last went there and we will certainly go there again. The menu has been revamped and the food was excellent. The "tasting menu/menu dégustation" enables guests to try, by serving small portions, of all the dishes on the menu. For me a really good option as i am not a big eater. Every single item was beautifully served and equally delicious. One in our party oped for the a la carte menu and he too was not at all disappointed. The staff are polite, friendly and helpful, as is the owner. I am gluten free, but this was not a problem and items were adapted for me. The main question from the waiter regarding this was if I was celiac or just gluten intolerant. Fortunately it is the latter. The wine, chosen by one of our friend, Habemus, was excellent and we had a long discussion with the owner about it. Price-wise affordable since for four people, including water, bottle of wine three menu dégustation and one a la carte, (comprised of starter, main and desert) and coffee it was euro192.00, of which 65 was for the bottle of wine. In the summer it is possible to eat outside and the restaurant is situated in an old palazzo in Sutri. he building itself is also interesting and like so many of the dwellings in the town there are many basement levels.
