I found this through TripAdvisor recommendations and was not disappointed. With help from the waitress, I ordered one of the specials -- the frijoles con seco de res, basically beef with rice and beans. It came with a delicious chicken vegetable soup, which had cilantro, rice, peas and carrots in it.The beef was a very nice stew that reminded me of something I had recently in Belgium. My little one loved the beans and the rice and he could not get enough of the soup!It was really great to be surprised with a delicious meal and one that was not too expensive!

I was pleasantly surprised by my meal here. I was drawn in by the storefront that advertised Peruvian and Colombian cuisine. As I checked out the menu, though, the waitress told me it was mostly Peruvian, although I did find several Colombian items, including a Colombian style empanada. I love empanadas, but this one was strange. First, it was an odd orange color and had a thick, hard outer crust. I needed a knife to get through the exterior, but the interior was soft with tasty ground beef.My meal started in the traditional Peruvian way with a plate of large corn kernels, lime wedges and a cup of spicy green sauce, simply called spicy sauce, which set my tongue on fire. Be careful. While perusing the menu I saw things like beef soup with cow’s feet and honeycomb tripe. Those things kind of weird me out so I settled for something safe, the Loma Saltado, beef strips with stir fried tomatoes and onions served on top of French fries. Very delicious and the juice was almost like a gravy for the French fries. There was also a large timbale of rice with two fried eggs on top plus two small plantains. The combination of rice and French fries on a plate is not that unusual and typical of high carb diets in South America. My Colombian boyfriend has eaten rice, potatoes and pasta all in the same meal! One thing I wish they’d change is their napkins. They use small cocktail napkins, not dinner sized ones. It’s slightly obnoxious not having a real napkin to use. Overall it was a pleasant experience and I’d go back to explore the menu.

If you have a chance, a visit to this section of Buford Hwy brings an exceptional variety of cuisines from Cuba, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Argentina, Mexico and many other countries. We had been here years ago after it was written up in the AJC, and the food was just as good this time around. The neighborhood and restaurant are very casual, festive and busy...the parking lot was packed so we found plenty of spaces on the side of the strip shopping center. Inside there were 4 flat screen TVs with soccer and many patrons. Warm rolls came out immediately while we were looking over the menu. We ordered the classic chivito de entrana and vacio. There was plenty of food...entrees had salad and potato salad. Both entrees were just too much food to finish but delicious. We got the cheja cake to go, and this light cake with fruit was just sweet enough to top off. the evening. We will visit again.

The place can accommodate a large group of people, as it was about 15 people in our group. With such a large group the service was attentive and on time. My dish, Churrasco with Mofongo, was outstanding. My friend’s dish, Ropa Vieja, not so much, as the meat was dry. They have live music, great ballads in Spanish, combined with some good dancing music in Spanish. There was enough room for our group to dance.

We were out of town and decided to give this place a try because it was Cinco De Mayo. HUGE mistake!! We have a large group of 13 and the waiter told us it was his 4th day ever serving. NO ONE helped him! We ended up having to write down our own drink order and take it to the bar and then 1 hour later we still didn't even have drinks. 2 hours after we arrived we finally got our food and it was absolutely disgusting! My plate had some kind of brown liquid all over it and it looked like someone tried to wipe it off but instead just ended up smearing it all over the plate. I ordered fajitas and what a huge disappointment. No one ever asked if we wanted anything else to drink and we had to get up and get our own refills on water. They had these buckets set up on chairs behind our chairs where they were piling up dirty dishes and scraping old food off of plates. One of the women in our group has a severe citrus allergy and she and about 5 of our group ended up getting up and walking out because we could see the cross contamination happening in the kitchen from our seat and she was just too afraid to take a chance with them not being able to handle proper preparation for a food allergy. Absolutely no one in any management capacity was there to support their staff or care for us as customers. Not sure who owns this place but I highly recommend some training or you probably won't be in business very long.Thank you for the feedback. You are absolutely right, we should have never allowed a group your size to get seated with our newest team member. By the time we realized it had happened, damage was done. And of course being Cinco de Mayo all problems were magnified. We do however take our sanitation and cross contamination seriously. Unfortunately being a very small restaurant, our buss cart does sit near the back table, and of course again being cinco - we could barely keep up with the incoming dishes. On top of all this, it was a Sunday and we were extremely understaffed for the cinco rush :(We sincerely apologize for your less than acceptable experience. Feel free to reach out to me directly through our website so that I may attempt to further amend for your experience - Andrew, owner, operator, dishwasher on 5/5/19
