Although Kyrgyz food is quite agreeable,after spending a week in this country visiting mountainous parts, we feel like eating something other than meats, fried rice and lagmen.Arirang turned out to be a nice change. They provide healthy, tasty and rather inexpensive dishes.My favourite is bibimbap( vegetables on top of rice) as well as kimchi chigae(pork and Chinese cabbage kimchi in soup).They automatically provide 8 small ,mostly rather hot and spicy side dishes ,which are almost enough as a light meal ,if taken with steamed rice.There is wifi and I felt like staying longer after the meal,because it was not crowded and comfortably quiet. Also they offered iced coffee at the end.The menu is written in Korean, Kyrgyz and Russian only. Nobody speaks English or Turkish. So sometimes I had to struggle with a dictionary. But the waitress was very patient.Since I will stay some more days in Bishkek, I will definitely visit Arirang a few more times!

I've eaten here a few times over the years, most recently last night. Dinner was just perfect, the owner and staff hyper polite and very attentive. Food was excellent, service was great. Be sure to request a table with the BBQ in the table, we chose charcoal over the gas flame. They have a ventilation system over each table, so you never smell or sense the smoke. We had bibimbap, glass noodle dish and pork rib BBQ. As you find in Korean restaurants, they serve a nice variety of kimchee. They brought more as soon as they saw that we gobbled them up. Locally produced beer on tap 0,5 l cost $2. Our tab for 3 adults and 2 children was about $60 which is amazing since most restaurants in Bishkek are quite expensive even when they are not great.

The place looks unassuming from the outside. If you were not familiar with this place, you probably wouldn't guess its a restaurant. But don't let the exterior fool you. Quite pleasant inside. There are also private rooms with low tables.Meals are accompanied by a selection of around 6-8 small side dishes. Even though they are all small, it adds up and you end up with a decent amount of food.Service is great, friendly and helpful staff. I've been back number of times, and will certainly be going back again.

There is quite a good choice of the Korean food in Bishkek. However, I'd recommend Koreana. It is a stylish and authentic place to go. Especially if you go with your friends. They have a promotion, if you celebrate your birthday in it, they provide the 20% discount.
