My wife and I went there because we were in the neighborhood. Been back 8 times last 2 months, brining family and friends with us!! The food is really fresh and low cal tasting. Especially love the Chirashi bowl: I've had it 6 of the 8 times there. My wife likes to try different dishes: the skinny tuna roll with no rice is her favorite. For the gourmet quality of the food, the price is real reasonable.

At Benihana, it's not just a meal, it's an experience. Enjoy teppanyaki favorites like Hibachi Steak, Chicken and Shrimp, as well as sushi and sashimi.
Benihana is nothing special from any other Teppan joint. First off the place is very noisy and very difficult to carry on a conversation. While the food is good the quality does not warrant the prices they charge. Yes it is fun to watch your meal being cooked in front of you with a flair of showmanship. But again not really with the prices. We were asked at least 3 different times if we were there for some special occasion. Guess people only come there to celebrate something. Here in Downey we use to have Sambiâs that offered Teppan and more. But didnât find the same atmosphere here. I did not find our time and quality of food to be worth what it cost. A dinner for 2 with drinks and appetizer to be over a hundred bucks is not worth it in my eyes. It will be a long time before we go backThank you for sharing your review. We understand your disappointment as this shouldnât have happened. Your feedback helps us to make improvements and weâre hopeful that you will provide us with an opportunity to serve you again. Arigato.

I love this restaurant. The food is consistently good. The sushi varied, modern and so tasty. The cucumber wrapped sushi is a favourite along with the mango one. Yum Yum. Their kitchens closing time on the weekend was reasonable-10 or 10.30pm from memory? We stay in Downey when in LA so it is a local which is great. I will be back.

Even if you don't like traditional sushi, you can't find a sushi roll here for anyone. Found this place because it was close to hotel, now it is my go to spot when I'm in town.

Food here was fast and fresh. If you want sushi and grilled Japanese food they hit the mark. Prices were average, tried the sushi combo $12. Came with a salad was seasoned well and was tasty. A different take on traditional sushi restaurant, worth the trip.

Stopped for a late dinner. Almost missed Kyoto as it was a small place with no big neon sign. A small but casual atmosphere. The service is great, server was quiet helpful and friendly. This is a Korean owned sushi restaurant. A large variety of sushi with something for everyone. The sushi rolls were excellent and creative. The fish was very fresh. Don't miss Kyoto Sushi if you are in the area.
