We got to Casale Sombrino thanks to our GPS. We were actually looking for another place but after hours of wandering between Ruffano, Cuatropiano and Supersano we finally decided to stop for a stay at this unknown place. I´m glad we did. The owners are a lovely couple, the menu is a classic yet sophisticated view on apulian cuisine, and certainly the best we got to try on our trip. Recommended for couples.

We had a pizza here late on a weekday in August. The restaurant was very busy but as we had booked a table we didn't have to wait long to sit down. The waitress was very efficient and carried out her service with a smile. There was a good range of pizzas on the menu. The pizzas were a good size with a nice base and not too heavy. Maybe better to avoid the one with pistachio cream on it, as my husband wasn't too sure about this choice in the end.

By far the best Pizza I have ever eaten and trust me, I ate a lot of Pizzas in my live! I went to Mezzaluna with a friend on the last night of our Salento Trip. We started with the Appetizer Mezzaluna which was delicious and fresh. Continued with Cavatelli on a Tomato Salciccia Sauce with Ruccula and Grana. To finish up we tried two different Pizzas, one Diavola and one Esaurita. Both Pizzas where great and by far the best Pizzas we ever ate!I can totally recommend this place, itâs very characteristic and has a history of over 30 yrs. Stuff is great and Food just amazing!Buon Appetito!

We have been with some old friends (16 in total) and enjoyed a lovely dinner. We got a great mix of antipasti (cheese, ham, salami, olives, different fried starters) and after that everyone enjoyed a delicious pizza!! Try the one with mushrooms and sausage! Lovely!!! Don't bother about the price, it's really convenient!!!!

Locale immerso nel verde con cucina tipica salentina, il proprietario è stato veramente gentile e disponibile come tutto il personale, antipasti vari e di qualità con prodotti tipici del salento, ottimo il primo di sagne ncannulate con salsicce e noci ed il misto di carne buonissimo, per i nostri figli menù bimbi con antipasto, orecchiette al sugo con polpette e salsiccia e patatine, ottimo il rapporto qualità / prezzo... 15 euro il menù bambino e 27 euro il menù adulti. Consigliatissimo. Ci ritorneremo sicuramente.

Farmacia dei sani was a highlight of our trip to Puglia last year and so we returned with much anticipation. The menu is less interesting, and the portions are much smaller, resulting in a fairly expensive meal. We felt rushed through the whole dinner and came away feeling that they are riding on their reputation rather than continuing to maintain the creativity and high standard that we enjoyed so much in 2015.

We had a wonderful time at this delightful Masseria. Before dinner we were treated to a performance of Pizzica that was truly delightful. Our dinner itself was excellent, although the food was mainly vegetarian. A bit more meat would have helped. Nonetheless it was most enjoyable and we all had a great time..

quiet small town in the geographic centre of amazing Salento. Super nice service and polite. sometimes not super quick but it worth to wait for the amazing taste of pure local food.go to the terrace for the nice atmosphere during summer hot evenings.every time I go to Salento for my summer holidays I have at least 3 to 4 dines @La Vecchia Fontana.

Really really good meal. Lovely staff. Excellent service. Really liked the imagination and inventive menu which had some very good flavour combinations. Well thought out.Would love to have this as my local restaurant as being non meat eaters there was an excellent selection of vege options and seafood for us. Thoroughly recommended. And not expensive at all.

We've eaten here two times, both at lunch. Although called self-service, the food you choose at the counter/buffet is served by the assistants. We found the food pretty good especially the greens and the polpettone with eggplant. Seafood risotto was ok and abundant but would have preferred less quantity but better rice quality, eg. Carnaroli or Vialone nano. They offer to re-heat some dishes at the microwave which we think is not healthy (we would rather have lukewarm food). Both times we had a small bottle of wine but only the first time were offered proper glasses, meaning we had to drink the wine from a plastic glass, like at an outdoor picnic.The setting is very basic without tablecloth of any kind and the venue was cold, not heated at all. Prices are honest.
