If you accept that this restaurant is competing with the numerous tourist trap restaurants in Spindl for the seasonal business it helps to settle certain questions that arose initially as my family and I dined at the restaurant as well as slept in the residence. The residence is nothing more than average. Relatively clean, orderly, bordering on austere and adequately priced. Not luxurious at all. Its a warm bed/bathroom... period. The restaurant appears to be a rustic pizza joint churning out standard Italian dishes. Thus when we sat down the first night I went into slight sticker shock when the prices here were 30% more than for similar fare in similar settings in Spindl. The difference is in what you are getting... the ingredients. This is a family run restaurant with Milan Grundza at the helm. He is a bit gruff but he knows his food and business. He brings Italian chefs to do his cooking for the season and the food reflects the same. His pizza crust, Romana as opposed to Neopolitan, is very good and just the right thickness and consistency for the fresh toppings. His pasta dishes are extremely tasty with kudos to the penne with chicken and spinach in a cream sauce, the spaghetti carbonara, and the tagliatelle con salmone. Of exceptional note was a special which was baby back ribs in a red gravy, (nod to my New York Italian friends), over penne... the meat literally fell of the bone and was absolutely delicious... my boys, 7 and 2, ordered the pizza but dove into the ribs and finished my dish. It takes a while to prepare this dish correctly and its obvious they put in the time... it was perfect.Come here with an open mind, in season don't panic at the prices regardless of what you've seen around town, be patient and let Milan and his team take you on a bit of a culinary excursion. It is worth it... GO AND ENJOY!

A full day in the mountains gets you hungry easily. Just nod to chef and the crunchiest and guaranteed most Italian pizza in KrkonoÅ¡e is on its way to your table! You can watch it being prepared in the wood-burning oven thatâs part of the restaurant.
I've worked in hotels for years and chata Hradecanka knows how hospitality is done. It's been professionally redesigned and rebuilt to the highest standard in Krkonose I know of.The team is welcoming, professional and fun.The cuisine is Italian-inspired, tasty and cooked from local ingredients where possible. The bar is well stocked with a high range spirits, refreshing local beers and even a three-colours tea!Rooms are simply perfect - tastefully designed, cosy and overlooking either the picturesque valley or the piste that is right behind the chalet.During my stay the team was also opening the new Mamut Skibar behind the chalet and I really enjoyed the opening talk by Marek Holecek, the known Czech mountaineer who's now a patron of the bar too.At a price between 1200-1500 CZK/night including breakfast I am trying really hard to find something to critique and will definitely be back - even if just for a dinner trip from Prague - this place is magical!

I'm guessing turnover is enough for the owner not care about quality. The staff have no clue and even have the front to be arrogant. It's comedy. Serving people who arrived long after us first. Forgetting 1 of the 3 simple drinks we ordered. Then bringing an extra one we didn't order. Painful wait times for everything. Didn't eat as per the hour minimum wait time. Maybe the kitchen is as bad as the waiters. Had to ask to pay twice. They should be happy I waited, I'd have happily left without paying. Go at your own risk.
So within one month I had the pleasure of visiting this new outpost of Kogo and I remain enamored. The setting, food and service all lend to an exceptional experience in this mountain resort/town, (read tourist town). Our waiter recommended the Fanciacorta Corteaura Brut as a pre-dinner drink. Nothing better than a server who gets to know you so quickly he can make recommendations along the lines of your tastes and desires. The food simply continues to excite both visually and on the palate. Their Filetto Di Vitello Con Tartufo In Salsa Di Traminer Con Foie Gras, which is their roasted veal filet with foie gras and black truffle, drizzled in a Traminer wine sauce, is one of those dishes, when done correctly as it was here, that borders on the sublime. Continued tip of the hat to the octopus appetizer and vitello tonatto. With Kogo consistently being exceptional it will take over the coveted ranking of best restaurant in Spindle very shortly. Keep up the excellent work and thank you. To anybody in the area... GO AND ENJOY!

The hotel restaurant is very nice, with terrace and nice smiling staff. We were satisfied with the dinner, it was tasty. The hotel breakfest bufet was good, many meals to choose from and all fresh. Dear Jan Å , thank you very much for your kind words. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay at our hotel. Hope we can welcome you again very soon. With kind regards, Petra Gottfried, general manager

Under the direction of our chef, we offer you a choice from the very best of Italian cuisine: pastas, risottos, fish, and meats, but above all, pizza - freshly baked to original recipes in our authentic wood-fired oven in the restaurant. Sit back, relax a
Not just authentically cooked pizzas (from Italian pizza oven) but full menu by Italian chefs. The owners buy all their products fresh and in person in Italy - and the difference shows. Wines hand selected and driven from Alto Adige. Friendly service. You wouldnât expect this quality and detail in a Pizzeria. Lots better than the supposed up market â5 starâ alternatives in town. Reasonably priced. Located in the very centre. Thereâs even a hotel!
