Let me start by saying my dining partner loved his Osso Bucco. Now....after we sat down, my dining partner (a man) went to the rest room. The Sommelier came over and left the wine list. I said after we decide what we are eating we'll consult with him. He said.."We'll wait for the man" (not kidding). When he came back, he directed all his comments to my male dining partner. We probably have equal knowledge of wine...I may actually have more, especially when it comes to reds. The sommelier never even looked at me. We ended up with a $70.00 (USD) bottle which was just above ok but not worth the price and really needed to open up for awhile. After he went to fetch the wine, I mentioned to my partner that as a father of daughters perhaps he should have known to look to me before placing the order. He was a large martini in, so he was forgiven but when the Sommelier returned he told him to have me do the tasting (he is a smart guy). The sommelier went ahead and gave us both tastings (not kidding). Really, really annoying. The wine was decent but needed to open and there was no time because they brought our food within 10 minutes of ordering. We did get an amuse bouche but it was some little pasta and pumpkin seed thing that neither of us cared for. I ordered the Risotto with Calamari and in my opinion the rice was tough. I like al dente but this was undercooked and the flavor was meh. Didn't finish it. But....like I said, my partner was very happy with his post martini (which I tasted and it was good) wine and his Osso Bucco and the rest of the wait staff was very nice and attentive (I would give them 4 stars if I could separate them from the sexist sommelier.

If you love pizza you will love Pepenero! Absolutely superb authentic style Italian pizza, served to us by the friendliest of staff. Oh, and the Aperol Spritz ain't half bad either! I can't recommend this place highly enough.

We were looking for a nice spot to eat whilst on a trip to Prague to celebrate hubbyâs birthday. We found gallery 44 online and booked, itâs really not the kind of place you find wandering the streets in tourist mode. Itâs a hidden gem housed under the streets in a converted cellar in the old town and really echoes the charm and historic characteristics of the cities oldest buildings with its chiselled stone walls and hard wood floors. Every member of staff, from waiters, chefs and managers gave a friendly yet unobtrusive approach and it feels like nothing is too much trouble. Our waitress Pat was truely exceptional in all regards. I was particularly impressed with head chef René too, he clearly cares passionately about the diners experience and works his kitchen craft with skill and flare. The food was delicious although it was clear the menu is constantly developing and renewing itself as is the nature their business model - having a guest chef every three months to shake up the menu. Itâs possible that they may never quite master any dish 100% with this approach, but I for one appreciate a restaurant that doesnât sit on its laurels and keeps evolving. The food overall was creative, well presented and delicious. Best fillet beef I ever tasted being cured on hay and salt for two days! Value wise, itâs pretty pricy, but where in Prague isnât?!Itâs absolutely without question a place worth trying, especially for a romantic evening for two or a special occasion for a small group. It has a quiet, low light, special feel. If it were local to our home we would certainly be regular diners for each visiting chef... and as a great bonus, David who runs the front of house aspect is welcoming and engaging and (though perhaps difficult to believe) from the Uk. So glad we found this little spot for our special night x Thank you very much for this detailed and enthusiastic review. Wonderful place! Had a conference across the street at a huge hotel and had free dinner there but came back every night (for four nights!) for better food and atmosphere! Amazing pizza and pasta! Good wine and killer Negroni! Felt like home. Couldnât wait to go back every day. Thank you! This is a very small resto so reservations are a must. It was my 2nd time going here, as I had such good memories from my first visit to Prague. The food is still excellent (all small sharing plates), the specially selected Italian wines are superb and they are excellent in recommending wines to suit the food, and by the end of the meal, patrons are relaxed and starting to chat with one another. The price is reasonable for the quality of food and wines. My only reservation is they are now quite regimented in starting each seating at a specific time and limiting it to 2 hours, in order to fit in 3 seatings each evening. That made for an awkward start to the evening, although the meal was still a success.

I've been to this restaurant several times with family, that live nearby. It has a really comfortable atmosphere, good service, good food and drinks.I've only always been in winter time and it is so warm inside.I don't live in Czech republic (yet) but always enjoy visiting this restaurant.

very nice ambience. Good service but I am sorry to say menu is very short. Do not have that vast choice. So unfortunately tried the chicken grilled with vegetable.Did not find any blend of spice. Yet I will try one more time after they change the Mwnu. May be the day was bad fir me.
