Après le week-end de Pâques à Pornic, les restaurants, dont les pizzerias, sont tous fermés, tous sauf un : la Pizza du Sud. Cette découverte due au hasard fut une incroyable surprise. Nous avions près de 45 minutes de retard, mais cela n'a pas entamé l'humeur agréable du patron. Puis la carte des pizzas, détonante par sa richesse : 51 pizzas sont proposées. Les prix sont d'une douceur apaisante, à l'heure où certains établissements dépassent les bornes, et s'échelonnent entre 8 € et 14 €. La taille est gargantuesque et à moins d'être affamé, 1 pizza pour 2 est conseillé. Ici oubliez le coup de massue avec le prix du vin, la bouteille (rouge, rosé ou blanc) est à 8 €. Oui je confirme, pas d'erreur de saisie, 8 € ! Et la qualité de la,pizza ? tout simplement exceptionnelle. On redécouvre, ou revisite selon le jargon à la mode, les pizzas que nous aimons tant, où la pâte n'est ni trop fine ni bourrative, avec une garniture abondante. Alors mettez pour une fois de côté vos adresse habituelles à Pornic et courrez à la Pizza du Sud ! réservez car la salle est menue.

What a phantastic chef!!! He is a master of cooking - in his previous life he had been working in the haute cuisine for quite some time. I had a desert which consisted of 3 ingredients only (apple, butter& cinnamon) which might sound boring. But it was in fact an incredible experience: The apples where transformed into some higher existence, full of flavour, tender in consistency and yet still with a bite. The other dishes were in the same league. He is capable to produce vegan dishes with outstanding taste as well as fish and meat courses. I am seriously thinking of coming back to Pornic because of this restaurant. Of course the wine, the service and the interieur where also splendid. Thank you very much for the perfect dinner - we will talk about if for the rest of our life.

They take an age to produce your pizza...with the wrong toppings and refuse to change it. But three beers in and I really didn't care...scrape off the bits you don't like and enjoy the rest. Great for people watching and just soaking up the atmosphere of the wonderful town

Merci à Céline pour son accueil chaleureux ,toujours de bonne humeur. Ma pizza "Rozzano " était excellente et copieuse (comme toujours) , avec un prix défiant toute concurrence. Merci à bientot.

My son and I arrived quite late (around 8:45) and foolishly (in retrospect) agreed to eat in the garden. I say "foolishly" as by now it was getting quite cold. For starters we shared a lovely bruschetta and green salad. But the mains were quite disappointing. My son had the spaghetti bolognaise whilst I went for the interestingly entitled Moules Gorgonzola (and frites). Both of these tasted quite bland. We finished with cheese for me and ice cream for my son.For drinks we had kirs to start with and two pichets of the very reasonably-priced house red. The service was very pleasant but, overall, it wasn't a very memorable meal.
