For starters the place feels a bit claustophobic perhaps due to the only windows being painted over with holidays cheers. Bread basket would have been a lovely start had the focaccia not been burnt to charcoal. The mozzarella in carrozza was inedible, deep fried in oil used elsewhere. The osso buco was just all right. The pasta dishes were huge, with quantity definitely detracting from quality. All in all, an American eatery, not quite authentic Italian cuisine.

We went with friends because anonther friend raved about it.It’s located in a small strip mall in New Rochelle. The ambiance improved from there. We seated and our server/hostess was terrific in every was. She was very friendly and made recommendations. We followed her directions often. She makes a great martini. For appetizers we had octopus, meatballs and eggplant parm. I had heard the portions were very large so we ordered accordingly. I’m very fussy about meatballs and only like mine fried. These weren’t but they were good served in sauce and chees. The octopus was not so good. The eggplant was mediocre. For dinner we had salmon, pasta, another pasta bolognese, an eggplant special and veal chop.I think the eggplant special was the most disappointing.it looked green and wasn’t pleasing to look at. So much of food is visual. The salmon was cut into small pieces. I’ve never seen salmon served like that before. The veal chop was tiny and looked more like a small lamb chop. The pasta bolognese was the best of the lot.Prices aren’t bad.We don’t like the no menu concept or the food presentation so we won’t return.

We arrived a few minutes early on Saturday night and had a short wait for our table. Eventually a waiter offered drinks and menus. Then he disappeared and we waited another 10 minutes to hear the specials. Another ten minutes before we ordered and then almost an hour for our entrees to arrive after inquiring several times. No apology. No offer of a glass of wine to make the wait more pleasant. Once the food arrived, all were delicious. Branzino orreganata - huge portion, piping hot with paper thin sliced potatoes and sautéed spinach. Chicken scarpariello, rigatoni w eggplant and an herb crusted chicken special. It was late and we were too full for dessert. When we complained about the wait, there was no apology, an argument over how long we actually waited and a comment about how he hoped we would come back. We did not tip generously as we usually do. The offer of a cup of coffee or taking our 2 glasses of wine off the bill would have gone a long way to assuage the problem. I would think twice about going back. Totally avoidable.

This is a tiny storefront and everything you expect from the local pizza joint, even if you're just passing through. Crisp thin crust, brightly flavored sauce, and the staff is just awesome. Super friendly. Families came in and they knew the kids by name.

we ordered the 3 course lunch option for $27 (per person) and everything we had was terrific.I started with the goat cheese salad, then bolognese pasta as the entree, followed by sea bass for the secondi. The pasta was homemade and perfectly cooked - I ate it all and I was so full by the time I got to the secondi that I sadly couldn’t finish it but REALLY wanted to. My husband was also delighted with the food he ordered. We will most certainly be coming back and frequently!

We went for lobster night and it was packed! The presentation of the lobster was great, it was split down the center and filled with vegetables. I had the lobster ravioli which was done in a cream sauce with sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms and shrimp. Great flavor. We also enjoyed the warm bread with olive oil. The service was also terrific. It was too loud but that didn't stop us from enjoying our meal there. Recommended.

A lunch for four friends. Worthy of every superlative in the English language. We opted for the special menu, which was replete with multiple choices. Mine was a salad of beets and tomatoes with greens enhanced by an unobtrusive dressing. Followed by a snapper oreganata. Both delicious. Others at our table were similarly ecstatic with their varied choices of salmon,’chicken and veal. Deserts also terrific. Service pleasant, competent and attentive. Worth a trip from anywhere

Agostino's Italian Ristorante

Reviewed By furslands

We know Italian food, traveling extensively through Italy every year, and Agostinos consistently offers the best and most authentic Italian meals we’ve eaten in NYC or Westchester over the many decades we’ve lived here; plus delightful, considerate service and a thoughtful/reasonably priced wine list. The home-made pastas, in particular, are exceptional. This is real Italian food, reminiscent of Italy and particularly Abruzzo, delightfully different from the Italian-American food served at other ‘Italian’ restaurants in the region.

Just had a great lunch at AJ’s. Read about the place on TripAdvisor and it was every bit as delicious, friendly and fun as suggested. AJ spent time chatting about his homemade yummy food, sent over some things he just thought we should taste, and even chatted about bbq sauce with my husband, who has become an amateur rib chef this summer.Burgers were delish. Pulled pork, too. Perfectly cooked rabe. Excellent coleslaw. And spicy pickled veggies just yummy. Not one to take no for a dessert answer, AJ sent small ( thank goodness) bowls of Giffords orange sherbets and vanilla ice cream over causing us to recall the Creamsicles of our youth.Tomorrow: pizza at AJ’s!
