We dined here on our first night in Matsumoto and were impressed. The food was terrific, the service good, they have an English menu which was a great relief. We went to go there again on our last night but alas they were closed. Many places in Japan are closed on a particular night of the week so it can be a challenge to find somewhere to dine. You will though so just keep looking.

My wife has a strict diet and Masa and Noli made it so easy. I dont have any restrictions. The meal was one of the best European meals we have had in five years living in Asia, worthy of a high class restaurant in Italy. Having worked in Sicily for several years, Chef Masa's experience and inspiration are clear.Noli runs a fun, friendly and entertaining front of house. She educated us on many Japanese customs. Masa's cheeky grin as he cooked delicious meals was infectious.The sicilian pork and roast potatoes were both amazing. The mushroom main for my wife delicious.The deserts were both heavenly - the monte blanco particularly so. The Apple pie yummy.Do yourself a favour and go hunt this place out. It is in the road over from Nakamachi Street/ on the water/ canal.Enjoy!

We tried this place as we wanted a change from Japanese food. It is downstairs in a cosy basement and feels Italian from when you go down the stairs, the waitress was lovely even though she didn't speak much English. The menu is in Italian and Japanese so that was a bit tricky but we worked it out. The food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Not the cheapest but well worth it I reckon.

Good pizza in the traditional frog passage in Matsumoto.Few specialties but very good ones: openminded about the traditional italian pizzas and ingredients.The chef won 2018 prize in freestiling in Japan and showed us his abilities with our enthusiastic clapping at the end.

This is a small restaurant on the first floor near the station. A few tables. We were the only guests which is a pity. Service is good. The menu is simple but ok. Pizzaâs taste very good, a pleasant alternative after a week of japanese dining. Wine (Chili) is ok. Price is right. If you are in Matsumoto and would like something different: try Beans!

Pizza Verde is a cozy pizza place that can only seat about a dozen people run by a friendly couple. We split a funghi pizza which was excellent although not quite enough for two. They serve a decent selection of wine and craft beer including the local Matsumoto Brewery Awesome Pale Ale. Like lot of businesses in central Matsumoto, the owners are big fans of the local football club Yamaga FC and they sell the green Yamaga beer which is Kirin beer with food coloring. The owner took the time to see every guest out the door when finished. Thank you, I appreciate your comment!
