Simonetta Restaurant

Great, authentic napoli type pizza restaurant set beautifully by the canals of La Villette. Pizza was delicious, with perhaps a bit too much crust, but some cool flavours like spicy burrata. We took-out and ate by the canals but it looks like a charming place for a couple's dinner out.

Il Posto

Reviewed By Katongo

I ate here twice during my three night stay in Paris. My son has a nut allergy, so finding a place to eat out that is safe for him can be a challenge. The staff at Il Posto were very amazing regarding this issue and I felt very reassured because they don't use nuts in their kitchen. My son devoured his pizza and declared it to be the best ever. It was absolutely delicious and made with the freshest ingredients possible. I had one of the daily specials, a vegetable lasagne, which was just as tasty.

Les Artistes Gourmands

This delightful place has a charming host and great food. Our group tried pizza, pasta, salads, and escargot and all were excellent. We enjoyed sitting outside, and even though the US was beating France in women’s soccer while we were eating, people were friendly and we all agreed “let the best team win.” I highly recommend this for anyone staying in the 11th arrondisement.

Il Farniente

Reviewed By mickmusique

Having read previous tripadvisor reviews I’d arranged to meet a business partner for dinner at Il Far’niente so took the trouble of reserving a table then re-confirming a few days before the meal. So far so good. Imagine my dismay when upon arriving at the restaurant – the young man blankly replied that he didn’t have our reservation – also most embarrassing in the presence of a business colleague. After much discussion and persuasion the young man eventually agreed to clear an unused table and seat us – back on track. We both commented that this restaurant certainly lacks atmosphere – no background music, drab posters sparsely placed around the walls and uninspiring service. We both also noticed an off-putting unpleasant smell of drains rising up from the downstairs toilet/ kitchen area. The blank young guy took our orders – good value at €23 menu for entree and plat. We both opted for the antipasti - a selection of charcuterie consisting of 1 slice each of prosciutto, coppa, salami, a quarter artichoke and quarter sun-dried tomatoes each - hardly exceptional. The main courses are almost exclusively pasta based – served in a pot (à la marmite) – not a salad, escalope de veau or entrecote in sight.I opted for the ‘suprême de volaille aux zestes de citron, crème de mascarpone aux truffes’ which was tasty – but the chicken was disappointing – cooked-and-recooked with the consistency of soggy cardboard. My colleague chose ‘Marmite de boulettes (bœuf) au gorgonzola et chèvre fondu’- again the sauce was tasty but the beef meatballs were quite tasteless – more essence of beef than meaty morsels. My colleagues 50cl Cote du Rhone was acceptable at €11.Our final bill came to €59 which was good value – but overall – we were both disappointed – certainly not a happening place with any type of Paris vibe. Yes the pasta is tasty and copious – but if your prefer quality cusine over quantity – try elsewhere.

La Toscana

Reviewed By moohaas

La Toscana is our and our chikdren's favorite restaurant for pizza or pasta in the area. We have the great privilege of living nearby and we end-up there at any suitable occasion. The personnel is kind and professional. The dishes are tasty and apparently made fresh. They usually are served in more than sufficient quantities. The pizze are awesome and some of the desserts worth trying even if you are fed up.Try it definitely, you will certainly enjoy the food and the warm welcome. The only thing I would suggest to change are the chairs, not comfortable and not adapted to the height of the tables...

We chose this restaurant based on it’s great reviews and were not disappointed. Our server was friendly, professional, and her English was better than my French. Our group chose the salmon, duck, and steak entrees, and one salmon and quinoa starter. All were excellent, with generous portions . Perfectly cooked, seasoned, and presented. The desserts we shared, the pistachio crème brûlée and chocolate fondant, were also superb. The restaurant itself is beautifully appointed, in a simple and refined way, and the background music was very enjoyable. We have already recommended this place to friends.
