I recently returned from a trip to Cuernavaca and was impressed with the quality of food in most places, but this is the best pizza(best meal of the holiday) I have had. Pleasant environment, friendly staff and fantastic food. I would reccomend this to anyone who enjoys authentic wood fired pizza while holidaying in this part of Mexico.

My favorites are the Monte Christo pizza and the Baci ice cream, but there is much more for any taste. The present owners follow very well the steps of the founder, a Genovese named Mario, always centered on excellent ingredients and fresh pizza dough!Pasta, Lasagna meets etc are also very good and the wine selection contains good Italian wines as well as local ones! One point of caution: Da Mario closes early, namely at eight in the evening!

This small 4 table Italian place is a must in cuernavaca.The place is a spin off from a chef from anticavilla and they make their own pasta.Everything is traditional and home made.There's always a line so be patient.

This restaurant is located in the neighborhood of Cuernavaca's cathedral (presently closed for post-earthquake repairs) and the Robert Brady Museum. It's one of a relatively few places where you can have a fine dining experience in the evening, as most Mexicans eat their main meal in the early afternoon. Our party was delighted with the wide variety of offerings which include pastas, pizzas and entrees. The Marco Polo pizza was shared by two of us, and had all the major food groups except chocolate. Spinch lasagne was proclaimed excellent the the medallions of beef ala gorgonzola was another great choice. We did try a piece of chocolate cake for dessert, and found it a little dry. There is a good international selection of wines, some at quite moderate prices. This is a place where you can have a wonderful meal without breaking the bank.

Armando´s is probably my favourite place to eat in Cuernavaca. The pizzas are always excellent, the pasta also very good, and they have my favourite dessert - tiramisu. I am very stingy with my âstars,â and I donât remember the last place I gave 5. We enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner, the main meal of the holiday. It was served banquet style, but unlike the other high-end spots, the tables were separated so that each group of diners really were attended to very well. Captains and servers paid close attention to what was going on at our table. Likewise the food was excellent. Entrees included a perfectly prepared Beef Wellington, a plate with turkey, vegetables and sweet potatoes, and a couple of vegetarian and vegan options. There was a choice of soup or salad for starters; all in our party enjoyed the soup - a cream made with candied walnuts. Dessert was a somewhat pedestrian cake. We chose a Mexican wine and were quite pleased. With tip the cost worked out to about $65 US per person. Valet parking made arrival and departure easy. The setting is the nicest hotel in Cuernavaca and one of a few small hotel treasures in the country. Anticavilla has definitely edged out Las Mañanitas from the top rating it enjoyed for many years. We were with a small group on a day trip from Mexico City and both major attractions in Cuernavaca were closed (the Cathedral for repairs and the Palace where Hernan Cortez lived was closed for for who knows why). So what we had left to do after the long trip from DF was lunch and shopping. We chose The House at the Las Casas B & B for lunch and it was fabulous. We were seated outdoors near the swimming pool. We were the only gringos; all the other patrons were Mexican Nationals dressed for business and that's always a good sign for the quality of the food, which proved to be true. Service was excellent and they had a great cocktail menu and a fine wine list.
