Trattoria Aroma

A night out with friends turned into a nightmare. Good company, but horrible experience. My recent first visit and now last visit to this establishment was unpleasant, unfriendly, unwelcoming, unexpected and most certainly unacceptable! We wanted to enjoy the atmosphere and the happy hour from 5p to 6pm so we made reservations for 5pm. The first of our party arrived promptly at 5p and awaited the rest. Cocktails were ordered by 5:20p once all four in our party arrived. Sadly the cocktails did not arrive until 30 minutes later-watered down. When asked if we could place an order for the next round to take advantage of the "Happy Hour," the snippy response from the waitress was, "We are not allowed to do that, we dont piggy back drinks." One of the guests in our party informed her of previous visits where the server had allowed drinks to be ordered prior to totally finishing the current drink and she informed us that the owner would not be happy to know that as she whisked away with a half smirky smile.Once all received drinks and was trying to move forward to enjoy the evening and decide upon our entree selections, twenty minutes of time passed before we summoned for our waitress to take our order. A simple question to her about a menu item was met with a response of, "I thought you were all ready to order since you sent for me," and she never provided an overview of the happy hour items or any menu specials to our party by the way. Needless to say in fast-fowarding this review, the unfriendly, nice-nasty treatment continued up until the unthinkable occurred around 7:15p, 7:20p when we were asked in a very matter-of-fact, unfriendly type of way to leave the restaurant because we had consumed our food and cocktails (but was still drinking our water as we chatted), yet was told another party had been waiting 20 minutes for a table and ours was needed. I wonder what would have occurred if we had ordered desserts because most of our time here was spent awaiting our selections. Did I mention there were numerous other open tables available as well as a party of 5 seated two tables away which was there when we arrived and clearly had finished their food as well, but not asked to leave. When asked for a manger, to our great surprise, the waitress which whom was so rude and unpleasant, and had seated and served us was also "The Manager." She only repeated the same thing the other unfriendly server said when asked why we were asked to leave. When we asked why our table was targeted, she informed us that they were debating which of the two to ask among us and the other table of five guests; since we checked out first (we asked for the bill by the way because they clearly had not given us much attention other than to fill the water glasses), our table was selected. As we exited, there were some people at the bar, but clearly no party waiting to be seated. To top it off and confirm we were not imagining this horrible experience, as we stood outside, a gentlemen walking his dog overheard us discussing our disbelief and let us know he lived three doors away and was excited to be able to patronize here, but when came he was treated rudely and the service was unfriendly. He said it's so unfortunate but he would never be back. This restaurant has a nice physical atmosphere, is located in an upbeat area convenient to downtown and the food I ordered was just average, not very flavorful (I ordered the pasta) and pricey. The service and professionalism is lacking and some training in customer service and community relations would be very beneficial for "The Manager" on duty when we visited. The hard earned dollars of patrons is what keeps any business in business. I WILL NEVER PATRONIZE THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN!!

Vino’s is a small and cozy purely Italian Restaurant on Elmwood Ave in Buffalo. First, they have a large parking lot not often found in the city. We were immediately welcomed st the door and our reserved table was ready. Service was friendly and speedy. Best of all, our two couples raved about the sauce. It had the perfect sweetness for Italian dishes. The meat lasagna was wonderful. Desserts are in-house and wonderful. I’m giving it five stars. It’s definitely a Buffal hidden gem.

The artichoke appetizer was so good, we had to order another. The mushroom pasta was fantastic with the pasta perfectly El Dente. My arugula salad where I substituted grilled shrimp for the steak was wonderful, full of flavor and plentiful. Loved the bread. The service was weak, with our server having to be called over at least 5 times. She forgot our starter salads for two guests and our wine cocktails. Getting the bill was a challenge. We ate outside and loved it. However, we were right under the music speaker which was a bit loud. I highly recommend the food!!!

We visited Santora's while staying at a hotel down the street. The restaurant has a large bar and lots of TVs. We sat in the dining area in a booth. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Our pizza was very hot and good. The Caesar salad was fresh, crisp and good. We enjoyed our visit and would return.

We dined at Italian Prime in part because I had received a $50 coupon and had never been before. The restaurant appears quite large as we were escorted to our table by the host and has a very nice bar where live music was being played. Our server was very knowledgeable and was polite and never intrusive though gave off a vibe of aloofness. We shared the stuffed mushroom appetizer which my wife did not care for though I very much enjoyed! We both had the filet which was really very good; but the "accessories" were disappointing to say the least. Not feeling like dessert at the time we took the Truffle Trio home to enjoy later; unfortunately neither of us cared for them. A little overpriced for the overall experience.

Went here with family. Server brought water soon after we arrived. Took our order about 15 minutes. Waited fairly long for our food, but WOW, the food was excellent! We ordered eggplant parmesan and lasagna. There must have been two pounds of delicious lasagne there. The eggplant my brother-in-law ordered was excellent also. The rooftop dining was cool too!

Fun atmosphere, excellent service, quality food. My wife and I had a great time with 3 other couples. The burrata was fresh and creamy and out of this world, the pizza crust was flavorful, and my chianti was delicious. My wife enjoyed a Caesar salad complete with an anchovie. Our waitress was knowledgeable, friendly, attentive but not exceedingly so, and completed an overall wonderful experience. The only drawbacks were that my wife would have wanted more anchovies on the salad and more of the toppings on the pizza, and she wasn’t a fan of the croutons but I didn’t ask why.None of those minor complaints would keep me from returning for another special evening.

Mulberry Italian Ristorante

Off the beaten path, in a residential area but worth the search. It is larger on the inside than appears from the outside and our 1st impression was it is "loud". We realized why when we saw 3 large TV's above the bar..It was a Bills home game day! ( We actually saw a Bill exit the back room where there was a private party). I'd highly suggest make a reservation as we did. That being said, I asked the dark long haired hostess how much longer since it was 20 min. past our reservation. She surprisingly gave a curt answer. The other hostess overheard our conversation about that and approached us saying it will only be a few minutes and seated us. We were glad we didn't leave because the rest of our experience was perfect and food was delicious.Seated in the side room which was much quieter and less crowded. Simply decorated with red walls with a gallery of pictures and tables with white tablecloths. We were pleasantly greeted by our waitress who continued to be engaging and attentive. (Which made up for the rude hostess). The menu included Specials of the day along with their Italian and American selection. Our out of town guest chose the Tenderloin special with Au gratin potatoes and asparagus, done to perfection. We chose the Lasagna (featured on food network) which was very good. It varies on different days. Today's Lasagna had beef, pork and Italian sausage in it. I was very happy with the blend of flavors and their sauce. The Fettuccine Alfredo was equally wonderful. We all ordered a side salad for $2.99 but were surprised a salad wasn't included for the price we paid. They did include thin slices of French bread. For dessert we chose the Peanut butter Cheesecake, light and fluffy texture and Creme Bru lee, both were awesome. We all enjoyed our meal and excellent service and agreed we shall return.
