When people care, it makes a big difference. When management cares enough to hire an excellent chef and give him/her free reign, they will choose the best suppliers and put together a varied and delicious menu. When waiters care enough to treat you as a precious guest (rather than show you how much they hate their job) you will possibly enjoy your restaurant experience more than even tasting the good food. When the chefs care enough about their reputation and happy guests to put out consistent quality dishes that reliably taste the same every day, you will come back for more.This was not my first visit to A Propos. I keep coming back every time I am in Poiana Brasov, whether I stay at the Alpin or not, because I personally have yet to find a better restaurant in the whole resort. It is primarily the food, but it is also the service and the ambience I appreciate.The meal starts, on the house, with a little Parmiggiano shaved from a grand block under your very eyes, and placed on your table next to an assortment of fleshy black and green olives, neither of them sour or overly salty. Then, if you can stand the thought of eating cow stomach, try the tripe soup and you willl taste the most beautifully balanced melange of flavours and tastes - a slightly garlicky vegetable-flavoured broth, made silky by the sour cream. If not, try the Bouillabaisse. Or the seafood pasta. Or the deep fried chicken. Or the salmon. And finish with either the perfectly cooked through and crispy âpapanasiâ (deep fried cottage cheese doughnuts served with jam and sour cream) or the impossibly thin, sour-cherry jam stuffed creppes. Any of those will please your taste buds.And you will also be pleased to note service is prompt and kind and helpful. A special mention goes to Emilian, our favourite waiter, who cannot help but smile all the time and who literally fusses over you as if you are truly his own personal guest.Last but not least, you will feel welcome by the (possibly a little over-decorated) classic dining-room atmosphere, complete with panormic windows offering generous views of the forest surrounding it.And, I promise you, you will come back.

Extremely rude personnel in the Altitude Restaurant!We stayed 3 nights in the Hotel that hosts the restaurant. We ate 3 breakfasts and 2 alacarte dinners in the restaurant. We couldnt enter the glass walled ( with good mountain view ) part of the restaurant in this 5 meals. They put a rope barrier and if you want to pass, they react very rude and say all reserved ( but it isnt ). We wanted to make a reservation for other days, they said its not possible. They dont even listen to you, they leave while you are talking and run over your foot with the service car!!! Unbelievable right?! Also Saturday evening we waited 1 hour for our main dishes.Fair taste of dishes but overprized.To sum up, stay away!

I made this profile just to tell about how great this place is. I was searching for a good place to eat in Poiana BraÈov in the summer season and this place had only a few feedbacks (3 positive) so I decided to give it a try. I must say that the restaurant has foreign waiters and this was a first for me in Romania. The food has a pleasant taste and despite the price being high, it is definitely the place to eat in Poiana BraÈov. A nice choice of meat, soups, fish and antres. It is a real fusion international restaurant and food is served in a very appetising manner. The dorado fish was very good, the tuna steak was very dry. Lamb chops were quite good, pirk fillet with bacon a little dry. Silvia was a great waitress, she was very attentive and knew exactly what we needed. We were with a tired 2.5 year old boy and she was there when he spilled juice and to give him a toy so we can eat and enjoy. Very reccomended to families with children.

After a long afternoon hiking on Tampa Mountain, I felt I deserved a good steak, so I headed for the #1 Brasov steak restaurant on TA (not that it has much competition). I like early dinners when Iâm travelling so for the entirety of my meal, I was the only one eating, which would put me off in any other restaurant, but itâs so highly rated I decided to give it a go anyway. And Iâm glad I did. I went for the ribeye based on the waiterâs recommendation not my favourite cut of steak but cooked to absolute perfection. Along with a simple piles of thick chips and some pepper sauce, it was simple and tasty and exactly what I needed to replace lost protein. Or so I told myself.So happy to read your review! Strolling on Sub Tampa forresty alley and being hungry, we came across a wonderfully designed, inviting restaurant, too beautiful to be missed. Another surprise came when we noticed that they had live music (a delicate midday atmosphere) and the food: a modern gourmet interpretation of the Transylvanian cuisine. For me, not acustomed to the heavy, mountain dishes from the area, it was a great discovery and the authentic yet modern take on Transylvan dishes is a rara avis in the Romanian restaurant scenery.

We liked everything we ate there, food and smoothies are great; the staff is very friendly, The only minus is that we have to wait some time for the food. I don't know if that;s only during weekends (we ate there on a Sunday and Saturday morning), but we have to wait like 30 minutes for our food to come. Other than that everything was perfect, totally recommend it! We will come back to try the pancakes.
