Within easy walking distance of the town centre, Ipswich's most original restaurant, Mariners 1900, is an antique Dutch customs gunboat, moored along Neptune Quay. You can enjoy wonderful food in a relaxed atmosphere. Enjoy an evening on the sea front wit
My husband and I booked Mariners for last Friday evening whilst we were staying at The Salthouse Harbour hotel. The greeting from Karine was warm and friendly and the service throughout the meal really good. Karine recommended a good bottle of wine to go with our meal which was of excellent quality and amazing value.

A modern, contemporary bar situated in the middle of Ipswich. Relaxed dining during the day, boasting a large outside area where diners can see in the evening and take advantage of our Happy Hour offers. food served daily from 11am-10pm when we turn into
Last time I came here, I was a little disappointed with the food. This time it was better. Really enjoyed my burger. Fairly quiet when I arrived but began filling up in the evening. Very popular venue. Has a good loyalty card. Good friendly bar service. Will return.

Restaurant with stunning Waterfront location serving locally sourced fresh products and fantastic service. Live music in our bar every Sunday from 3pm.
Visited with a large family group- there was a live singer who was a surprise and he was good but the volume meant we couldnât speak to each other - we had to shout or sign. The food was ok for some - fish n chips was good and so was the Caesar salad. The roast beef was ok for one of the group but for two of us it wasnât great and the beans were hard (definitely too crisp) and stringy. Despite bringing the issues to the serving staffâs attention nothing was done & there was no concern/interest in the feedback Or the fact that I had left the beef and vegetables on my plate. Dessert of custard tart was nice, but this had the appearance of a bought in dessert. We were disappointed by the food, but this seems not to be the focus of this place on the day of our visit. We wonât be returning and definitely wouldnât recommend this restaurant for the food (menu is quite small so the choice is rather limited) it is more of a bar with live music on some days that seems to attract the patrons. Donât bother if you are looking for somewhere for a good meal - we would rather go to @twenty five which is another restaurant we have visited close by where the food is seriously good & the service is great.Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We appreciate all feedback so thanks again for bringing these points to our attention. I'm pleased to hear one of your party enjoyed our roast beef and custard tart, we're lucky enough to have a kitchen team preparing a 100% inhouse made menu everyday so to hear the rest of your party weren't happy with the menu disappoints me. Our live music every Sunday is a key aspect to our bar bistro, we do have an alert on our online system so all bookings should be made aware when booking online and we do try to make all over the phone bookings aware as well. If you do change your mind and visit us again please do let us know.Kind Regards
