Had a disappointing meal here to celebrate a elderly relatives birthday recently. We had certain expectations given the website, but the restaurant didnât really stack up to the image presented. There was loud music playing which made it difficult to chat (It was an 89th birthday!) and the restaurant was largely open to the elements which didnât help. The food was ok, with one dish being really good, but the overall service was also disappointing. (Long waits, meals served some time apart etc). The bill was also a surprise as the most expensive meal we had during a 2 week holiday in the area. Sadly, it just wasnât worth that in my book.

We utilised TripAdvisor to find a nice restaurant the Avenida did not disappoint. We very much enjoyed our meal. The grouper cerviche was delicious. We also enjoyed prawns, chicken, black pork, octopus and langostines. It was beautfully prepared, presented and full of flavours. We found this place on trip advisor and were delighted with our choice. I think it was Grill night or something similar, it was a Monday evening. There were fixed menus for 2 or 3 courses at â¬15.90 or â¬19.90 which included some really good food. Main course choices were a whole sea bass or steak or Piri Piri chicken or grilled swordfish. All really nice - there were 4 of us and we had all 4. Great service (the waiter could have been a little chirpier) but was a good evening

Actually location is the best because itâs away from the usual tourist crowd! Been coming to Luz for many years and never eaten at Barroca, having read the fantastic reviews on Trip Advisor decided to come here for dinner last night. Was not disappointed, we sat outside enjoying the warm evening. Food was delicious, great portions and everything so tasty. Great selection on the menu, highly recommend the sea bass with roasted vegetables, kids had burgers which they loved. Great value for money as most restaurants in Luz are expensive. Will definitely return on our next trip

managed to get 4 of us in for dinner without reservation , unusual , we had amazing food served by a waitress ( short dark hair , big smile ) who has passion for her job . Lovely food , lovely wine and just a wonderful evening ..we will return in April as it was our best meal this holiday .

This restaurant is very good with attentive service and great food. You must try the "cataplana" Portuguese dish if you are a fan of seafood. It was moist and flavoursome and truly a highlight of our stay in Burgau.

Generous portions of well cooked food. Always have about 4 specials on the blackboard each day.....my Corvina was excellent served with new potatoes, salad and veg. Others enjoyed their Pork Steak with fries and salad, and the Omelettes were good too. We will be back!
