Auf unserer Wanderung über den Rotweinwanderweg überfiel uns der Mittagshunger. Einem Schild folgend stiegen wir hinunter auf die stark befahrene HeerstraÃe, kein besonders idyllischer Ort. Um so verwunderter waren wir als wir der sehr netten Bedienung in den schönen Schlemmergarten folgten. Hier fühlten wir direkt wohl. Von der kleinen Karte suchten wir uns dann unsere Mahlzeit zusammen. Alles war ausgezeichnet und das zu Preisen die es heute nicht mehr zu geben schien. Super empfehlenswert

Auf der Dienstreise hatte ich (deftig-heftige) Vollpension. Als ich dieses moderne und gemütliche Restaurant entdeckte, ging ich zum Abendessen hierher und nicht mehr in mein Hotel. Die selbst gemachte Minzlimonade - ein Traum! Der Salat mit Humus oder die frischen Heringe. Lecker!!! AuÃerdem ist der Wirt ausgesprochen freundlich und die Bedienung schnell. Eine Bereicherung für Bad Neuenahr!

... Endlich mal frischer Wind in Bad Neuenahr. Kleine Weinbar, mit dem Flair des eigenen Wohnzimmers. Es sieht so privat aus, dass man sich erst nicht rein traut, aber dann... Absolut tolle Weine, kleine Karte mit ausgesuchten Speisen zu super Preisen. Wolfgang Steinheuer betreut seine Gäste einfach wunderbar!!! Eins ist klar, allein dafür lohnen sich Fahrt und Ãbernachtung, wir kommen auf jeden Fall möglichst bald wieder

In this little restaurant in the old city of Ahrweiler, in the pedestrian zone, you can get relatively large portions of cutlets, schnitzels, french fries, salads, soups and basic inexpensive German and Croatian dishes. There is something for everyone. The wine options are not very good though this is a wine region town. This is basic food, ok, (good soups) just not special. There are better places to eat in downtown Ahrweiler and in the region which I prefer, if you want well-prepared German food.

Germany is an underrated food country and Metzler's is an example of a hidden gem. All of our group of 8 raved about our meals and my wienerschnitzel was the best I have ever had-tender juicy veal well crumbed and served with a side of lingonberry sauce. The apple flammekuche, kind of a cross between an apple pie and a pizza, was delightful and more then ample for sharing. Service was a little cold initially but came through nicely when it started raining (we were seated outside). Worth a special trip.

We only tried the Dessert as we were all stuffed with fantastic dishes but greedy enough to have another round that afternoon. Although I only tried the wonderful Mascapone Cream with Raspberrysauce and Rabenhorstberry Ice Cream, I could imagine how excellent Chef Neumann (under the management of Wolfgang Steinheuer aka the Resto's Owner) as we could see the happy faces carrying food from Köhlerhof's Stand.The 4 * is for the Dessert, wouldnt be a mission impossible to up grade it to 5 * once we had the oppotunity to try the main course next time. :D

Speisenauswahl überschaubar, aber sehr gut. GroÃe Portionen und wirklich lecker Cocktails auch sehr gut und bezahlbar. Bedienung zuvorkommend und flink. Ambiente innen und auÃen noch verbesserungswürdig, ansonsten alles prima, wir kommen gerne wieder.
