WOW! What a find. Anyone who loves Indian food and is looking for a change of pace from French food and is in Montmartre.........this homey little restaurant will blow your mind. I have eaten fabulous Indian food all over the world for 45 years including India in top rated restaurants.....and this is the last place I would expect such perfection.......but sure enough the online pictures/reviews opened my eyes again. TripAdvisor in English only shows 1 review and a few pics......fortunately Google has a bunch of pics which did justice. When we got there today a Sunday at 1pm there was almost no customers in this cute small clean restaurant. The owner Farook and his wife Firoza were there to greet us......and within minutes they felt like friends. While my wife chatted with Firoza I got down to business with Farook about their food. Behind the glass counter is 12-14 cooked sauced dishes including 6-8 vegetable dishes. I read one review that said there were almost no veggie choices.....absolutely wrong. First they offer you a small plate with a spoonful sample of all the choices you are interested in so you can choose what to order....and choose we did 4 items. Eggplant with tomatoes, zucchini, mixed veggies, and broccoli with small bits of chicken. Each one was better than the other....hard to imagine such mastery in such an unassuming place....but there it was!We also ordered the mixed tandoori plate.....as good as you can find anywhere. First of all, everything was marinated so well and retained the thick yoghurt marinade on the outside when cooked over the charcoal to bring the luscious creamy texture to the outside of everything. Next the selection......to die for. 1 nice sized seekh kebab cut in to 3 pieces, 2 chicken tikka kebabs, 2 large pieces of paneer, 1 chicken wing, a double lamb rib chop, and a piece each of red pepper/green pepper/onion. I will dream about this tandoor plate for years to come.....it was that good.....and well cooked so some blackening around the edges to add to that smoky taste. They also put a light buttery type of sauce on top of all the tandoori items but just enough to add moisture/flavor did no overtake/overpower. We also had 2 orders of garlic naan with tons of extra garlic (that's ok we both ate it so our breaths won't kill each other later today), and an order of cheese filled naan. All accompanied by 2 bottles of Evian. Must mention the mint chutney was perfectly balanced, and their tomato chutney was absolutely killer. After about 15 minutes the place started to fill up and then was full until the time I left. All I heard spoken was french so no tourists...primarily because it is way off the tourist path and based on some of the local businesses it looks to be an Indian neighbourhood. We took the 80 bus from the Ibis hotel, got off at Rue du Mont-Cenis where the bus turns left towards the end of the bus line......and walked 10 minutes from there.....thanks to google maps no issue. They have friendly smiling excellent cooks behind the counter, and a friendly punjabi cook in the kitchen (I wandered in). These guys are all experts. In front there are 2 tandoors, on the left for naan....on the right is for meats. The prep kitchen was impressive, large/clean/cool unlike the cramped hot quarters in most US Indian joints. Farook really looks after his cooks. The bathroom was modern, large, and super clean. If I lived here I would eat there once a week, perfect for take out.Value? Um....let me see......check was 20 euros.....you judge for yourself!!You can trust and listen to me or not.....but those that do will thank me quietly.

We love Indian food, having lived in India for a while. This restaurant offers the best of North Indian food with a wonderful home style atmosphere. We loved the tandoori prawns and the lamb tikka curry. And the aubergine curry was also delicious. But what made it really special was our charming host who looked after us royally - my companion had a broken arm - and got the heat of curries just right. Highly recommended and great value.

Visited this restaurant recently and the food was all great. The restaurant was small and in a not so Main Street location but who cares as long as the food is tasty.
