We've had takeaway from here a few times and it's always been hot and tasty. Staff are helpful and you get generous portions too.

we went in with an entertainment voucher and can't wait to go back. I wanted 2 vegetarian samoas for almost the same price as a regular (meat?) one. the regular samosa came in a bowl and was amazing taste and texture. It was enough to fill me up but we also had 2 mains with the leftovers to go. can't wait to go back.

INDIAN LOTUS Restaurant/Takeway is in the new Silverstream shopping precinct, across the motorway from Kaiapoi. Always fans of good Indian cuisine, Da Wandering Wabbits tried it 'to-go'. Sadly, the Indian Lotus Special - goat biryani - was not available. Hmmm, a "house special" not available? Was this an omen? When we uplifted our food (at 8pm on a Friday night), the restaurant was completely empty! Another omen perhaps? Ok, so what was good: our vegetable samosas ($7), the rice, and the cheese/garlic naan (although the outside was quite burnt). Average: Mrs Wabbit's chicken bhuna ($15.90) resembled a thick vegetable goo with chicken pieces added later (as opposed to securing the flavours by long simmering). Poor: Mr Wabbit's fallback option - butter chicken ($15.90) - had an excessively high coriander content. This darkened the sauce considerably and spoilt the flavour. We were disappointed, unimpressed and did not finish eating either main dish. Considering the previous reviews were highly complimentary, we Wabbits can only assume it was a bad night in the kitchen. But the lack of customers implies something else...
