We came here for our Sunday lunch & were looking forward to it as had read good reviews. It turned out to be a mixed review for us. We were excited when we got to the restaurant as there were 2 tables of Indian families having lunches and it was always a good sign. We ordered starters and mains. The starters were delicious but small serves and not enough if sharing.The mains were cold when served up. The signature butter chicken was sweet even when we asked for it to be cooked medium spicy. Eggplant & rice were cold too. The only dish that was served up hot was the briyani which was super delicious. And then all of a sudden, we were given the bill even when we didnât ask for it. We wanted to finish up the meal with some Indian desserts. The waitress said that the kitchen is closed. We were shocked as she didnât come up to us to ask for last order as kitchen was closing. This lunch was a hit & miss for us and suffice to say that we wonât be travelling across the bridge to eat here again.

Excellent tiny suburban Indian restaurant so booking essential, its as good as its sister restaurant Nilgiri but despite its squishy size itâs quieter and less frantic. Its better than our last visit. Poppadums and pickles are the best anywhere. Veg Tasting menu provides excellent flavours and there was plenty of food. Love the curry and the dosi.Highly reccomended.

Just love this place and have eaten here with a group of girlfriends for dinner and, on a few occasions, as a pre-theatre treat. They have great food options and cater extremely well for non-meat eaters and all dishes are very tasty. The staff are fabulous and always ready to answer any questions and/or offer great menu choices.They are aware of people being under a time-constraint if dining before a show and we cannot wait for our next Opera House performance and returning to the Spice Room for dinner first.Make sure you book as always very busy.

The best Indian restaurant I have been to in Sydney! As a person of Indian origin I was amazed by its authenticity. The food is well and truly authentic to its Indian roots. The softest Naan bread and the loveliest of Paneer Makhni gravy was a truly wonderful combination. First visited Raavi's Cumin a few months ago, nice decor so had high hopes. Hopes dashed though when the main course arrived as the fish dish was very undercooked, we sent it back and it came back underooked again, we gave up at that point. Decided to give the restaurant another go but this visit was worse than the first. We ordered a draught beer that was served a full 5cm under the legal measure line of the glass, we sent it back to be re-poured. We ordered onion bhaji for entree which was served burnt, so we sent it back, they came back undercooked and so were inedible. We then waited nearly an hour until I finally had to ask when our mains would be served. We finally got our mains however the chicken dish was tough and the lamb disappointing. Very poor service and mediocre food, won't be going a third time.

I've been a regular and long time customer for the better part of 6yrs.This is largely due to the consistent high quality of their dishes. Vindaloo and Pepper Chicken are my go to dishes that have never once failed to meet my expectations! Not once. When takeaway is ordered the food is always hot, size is great and deliver on time or earlier than expected. Thoroughly enjoyed the food at the Malabar and the attention and service by the staff was great. We ordered the Samosas, Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala and the Korma along with rice and roti, all of which was very tasty. In addition the restaurant was not very noisy so our group could easily can on a conversation. Will be making a return visit next time in Sydney.

I love an Indian meal and was not disappointed with this restaurant. It was busy but service was great and the menu choice excellent. Portion size was just right and the taste and flavour spot on. Next visit to Sydney and we will return!
