Visited on Sunday evening, without booking. They were extremely busy & couldnât seat us for an hour. We went for a drink nearby & upon our return was promptly seated. They were still busy but service & food was excellent as always. Will be returning.

We have a long-standing Valentines tradition to go for an Indian meal at the Bengal Spice. The food and service was as excellent as ever this time and the bright new decor was great. Lots of vegetarian options. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking in the public car park to the rear. A complimentary fresh red rose completed a great Valentines meal.

When this takeaway first opened we were delighted. Their food was always tasty and full of spice and flavour. However, I don't know what has changed because I tend to order the same dish every time ( I know how sad ! ) as it was very mediocre. The sauce was totally lacking in flavour and depth. As for the onions, I know they are cooked aldente but they were hard. Our friends felt the same. The chicken dish was dry and looked as though it had been hanging around for hours. I guess we should have gone back and complained, but it was not bad or anything, just dull and as I said mediocre. However, we won't be heading back again.Pity.
