While visiting Cape Cod, we stopped for a late breakfast at this place mainly because of the great reviews on Trip Advisor! We were not disappointed. We both had one of the full-breakfast offerings - the portions were very generous, the food arrived very quickly and it had just been made - perfect. The dining area was packed, but we were accommodated at the counter. It is also VERY noisy - but, it is a café after all.

After researching area restaurants in the Yarmouth area, I came across this restaurant which had many favorable reviews. We were visiting in the off season so we had no problems getting a seating. We were thoroughly impressed with our dinner at Gerardi’s. We loved the atmosphere of the cafe. We ordered wine, an antipasto, a cod piccata special, homemade gnocchi with sweet sausage and meatball, and butterscotch creme brûlée. Everything was mouth watering delicious including the warm bread and oil and crostinis brought to our table before the dinner. We can’t wait to go back. Dreaming about another delicious meal there....

Once again, the husband and wife proprietors have hit a home run. Their gelato is all homemade and is so silky smooth. All their flavors are gluten free. Espresso; salted caramel; blueberry; lemon cream. You name it, they have it, will have, or will make it. We love all the ice cream choices on the cape, but this place is special.

The waitress was friendly and helpful....could not have had better service. I had the Lobster Cake (delicious) and the BEST clam chowder that I have had in years. I definitely recommend the restaurant and will be sure to stop in when in the area.

Our main reason for visiting Hyannis was to stop at Katie's and try their homemade ice cream and we weren't disappointed. There are so many choices of ice cream from the regular choices to the unique and the portions were very good. You order based on the number of scoops even for the sundaes. I had a 2 scoop vanilla in a newly made waffle cone that was still warm and it was delicious and my husband ordered his usual a hot fudge sundae with coffee ice cream, whipped cream and nuts and he said it's tied for his #1 ice cream spot. The girl who waited on us attentive and patient as we looked over the entire menu of ice creams. We will definitely return to Katie's!

This is by far the best value on the Cape for ice cream. A small here is as big as a large at most other Ice Cream shops on the Cape. Worth the stop! Only complaint is that are not open EVERY day prior to July...BUMMER!!!

Food and service are superb... as a single, even when crowded one can get a seat at the counter. I've only been there for breakfasts, which are available all day until closing at 2pm. Have visited several times over the years.

Not a large place and you may have to wait to get in, and cash only. It is worth it. Food was great and service friendly and quick. They do have some vegetarian options (don't believe they are vegan). Were very accommodating as our group had both breakfast and lunch orders. Really enjoyed it so went back for a second day.

Good range of flavours, not cheap but larger than expected. Ordered 2 cones, had to wait whilst one of the flavours was refilled which took a while, meanwhile the other one was melting. Once received they told us the price, I paid, no please or thank you. Obviously coming to the end of the season and needed a break.

This was my first time at Captain Parker’s Pub, and it must have been my subconscious telling me something. I was here for dinner with our daughter, Stefanie, and Captain Parkers was selected more for the proximity to her Cape house than anything else. Stefanie was driving down from off Cape, and I wanted for her to have a short drive.
Stefanie arrived a little before me and was seated at a window table when I arrived. I entered through the bar, which seemed to be just about full, more than likely with locals taking advantage of the ½ priced appetizers. As I entered the restaurant, I understood, and Stefanie was chuckling as I approached the table. It is a good size, well lit room with lots of tables and no ambiance at all, and on this evening, very few other patrons. I understood.
Stefanie had her usual Bombay Sapphire Gin & Tonic, and I ordered a glass of Russian River Chardonnay. We had not seen each other for two weeks, so we had a lot of catching up to do, so we lingered quite awhile before even looking at the menu. There was no problem worrying about the need to turn the table.
We eventually ordered, with Stefanie, still on her diet, ordering the tossed salad with pan seared scallops, and I ordered a cup of chili to help take the chill off – the restaurant was on the cool side – followed by Blackened Salmon with Rice Pilaf.
Stefanie’s salad with scallops looked to be very nice, with the colors making for a good presentation. The scallops were still white with a faint coloring of the searing, which probably is best when served with a salad like that. She really enjoyed it, and in hindsight, I wish I had ordered that too.
When I think of blackened fish, I tend to think Cajun blackened fish based on experiences in New Zealand and Australia many, many years ago. But, I only asked for “blackened”, and not “Cajun blackened”, and that is what I got. The skin side of the salmon was very blackened, and being blackened did not add any flavor to the salmon at all. There was a good portion Rice Pilaf and the mixed vegetables, but they really did not add anything to the dish. I did eat the salmon, but most of the other stuff stayed there.
For me, the whole thing was a bust, with the exception of the time and conversation with our daughter. As it turned out, it was 9:00 when we finally left, making that a very nice 2 ½ hour meeting with conversation that brought in old memories and good times. But for me, Captain Parkers was one big bust, and I cannot see myself going back there again, and that is because of the combination of lack of ambiance and warmth coupled with my blackened salmon.
Now I do have to say, that I believe Captain Parkers Pub could be an excellent spot for familes on vacation here in the summer. The tables have a glass/plastic cover, which is probably good for the young kids who might be more than likely to spill things and play with their food, and there are paper napkins, albeit a fairly good quality. And the location is really excellent for families, because of the very close proximity to the Whydah Pirate Museum – it is right out the back door – and the Parkers River Marina across Route 28.
If you are coming with a family with youngsters, Captain Parkers Pub is a good place worth a visit, but if you are a young, or old, couple looking for a romantic date night with good food, just keep on driving.
