Also - wir besuchten nun schon das 3.te mal das urtypische Gebiet "Thaya" und landeten zum Schluß immer bei einem wunderbar wohlschmeckenden Mittagsessen im Gasthof HAIDL in Thaya.
Beim 1. und 2. Besuch von Thaya genossen wir die immer wieder eindrucksvolle "Bootsfahrt" im Haidl-Keller.
Zuvor hatten wir das Mittelalterdorf Hard besucht und danach noch die Schaubäckerei Kasses, welche über die Landesgrenzen hinaus beliebt und bekannt ist - da von dort aus sogar der "Meindl" am Graben in Wien beliefert wird.
Nicht zu vergessen wäre auch ein Besuch des Waffenmuseums in Niederredlitz.

This restaurant is an excellent choice for having dinner and/or staying there for a while. The ambience is great and internally it looks like an Irish pub built of old wood, very comfortable and gives his own atmosphere. Outside you can sit on a table (for dinner) or just chill out in comfortable furniture like a lounge (to drink with snacks). You can get a traditionally drawn pint of Guinness and other local beer. Food is really excellent and therefore a recommendation for everybody.

The location is easy and the people nice. Food is well prepared. I took the Rostbraten with knodel: meet was thin but tasty. Knodels very good. One negative point is that guests are allowed to smoke.

Lovely to find oneself suddenly hungry in a snowstorm and stumble upon this little gem lost in the countryside. Pleasant ambiance, rich albeit classical Austrian menu, well executed dishes and all for very reasonable prices.

Der Hotspot in Waidhofen. Auch auf regionale Küche wird sehr viel wert gelegt, von der der Pizza bis zum Waldviertler Karpfen... An Wochenenden trifft man vom Arbeiter bis zum Anwalt ein bunt gemischt angenehmes Publikum an. Das Personal ist super fit, und freut sich auf deinen Besuch.

Noch eine Geheim Adresse für Gourmets. Es gibt aber auch Mittagsmenüs und erstklassige Hausmannskost wie Schnitzel Wiener Art und das zu absolut fairen Preisen.
Gibt nichts auszusetzen, von der Reservierung bis zum Service hat alles gepasst. Hervorragend zubereitete, attraktiv angerichtete Speisen, Top Bedienung, regionales Bier und sehr gute Weinkarte.
