Of course, this is a VERY simple restaurant, but the Pancakes (Dutch-style, i.e. thick, a full meal) are great and the choice is enormous. The atmospehere is great also, so go for lunch or a late breakfast (and get ready to do some exercise afterwards...)

Nice Terrace and a little play area for kids. Sheltered, and a great sun trap if the weather is good.
Can get busy just when the beach tour bus drops everyone off.
We just had cake and coffee which was average. Others had what looked like pretty hearty sized sandwiches.
Getting served is a bit of a bun fight, but once you have ordered the food comes promptly.
Wouldn't say it's worth the walk, but if you're on bike or bus it makes a decent change from the town.

We arrived pretty late, and as a result there were few other people still in the restaurant. Still, the service was slow to very slow, and for the starter we were certain that they had forgotten us, before the food arrived. We took the surprise 3 courses menu (1 meat, the other fish). My appetizer was edible, but nothing more. That of my partner was better, but the combination didn´t work well. The main course was for both of us much better. The dessert was passable.

This is a great burger plus joint that serves good quality food. The menu concept is something I enjoy: you build your burger by choosing the ingredients you want, which allows for any combination, and no waste. Even the bun is optional. :-) Fabulous!! Perfect for me, no need to ask for ingredients to be excluded. The decaf coffee was also good. Recommended, deserves a 4 out of 5

Next to the church in Vlieland, the former orphanage is transformed into a surprising tasteful restaurant. The menu is a broad variaty of foods. As entre we had a red beet and herring. The second corse was a white coal and goose pate. The interior is still mostly original.

We had a dinner in the restaurant after our sailing trip from Terschelling to Vlieland. I like the atmosphere and all nice dishes. I would like to recommend this restaurant to all guests..

We have been going to Vlieland and this restaurant for years and were pleasantly suprised to see that it has been renovated with a more contemporary look. Also the staff is much more attentive and quick than in the past, although very young and inexperienced. This is a place to have fish, meat and you wil be served the traditional Dutch way with lots of side dishes. The food is fresh, not overly refined but in line with the price. There is a nice Terrace in the front (street) or the back (garden). I was disappointed by the wine list which was not extensive. This restaurant caters evidently to people for whom spending €40 on a bottle is a maximum...
We did not have desserts but noticed they have plenty of old-fashioned ones, for example Crêpes Suzette. All in all a must try, especially given the restaurant scene on the island.

Looking for a convenient place when you stay in the Vlieland marina, then de Dining is the perfect location. Nice view, nicely decorated and a bit trendy, personnel is nice, efficient and friendly. So what's wrong... The food comes fast, very fast... Surprisingly fast! So does it mean that everything is prepared in advance or placed in microwave oven. Nobody knows, but the result in the plate is average and not at the level to what this restaurant seems to pretend.

This is beyond a shadow of a doubt one of the better restaurants at the Waddeneilanden. The five course menu was really good especially considering the price! Make a reservation before heading out here!

Despite our very late arrival, the staff at De Oude Stoep were very welcoming. Excellent food and a great atmosphere were just what we were looking for. We liked it so much we came back the next night!
