It had been quite a while since I last had Poutine. I think it's either a love/hate relationship with this dish. I happen to love it. My friend didn't agree with me (it was her first time trying it. She did understand what all the rave was about). The only negative thing about my visit was that I thought the price was a little high. $11 Canadian dollars for a large order of fries, with cheese and sauce is a little much, if you ask me.

had supper there with friends after a day of golfing. Food was good, good variety and reasonable prices. Staff were very friendly and the service punctual. Large screen TV's on the wall of course. Beer specials were posted and prices better than normal. Would return.

Great variety of meat, some fish and seafood. My bavette steak was savory and perfectly cooked to med-rare. The fries were a good bet and the salad served fresh. The different sauces and garlic inspired salad dressing were presented on the side. My partner sampled the pork filet mignon with scallops- both tender and delicious. Good house vegetable soup and the chocolate "ganache" type cake was decadent. A come back!

Overall, the food was acceptable but not spectacular. Steak Raymond was well prepared, pricey, but tasty. Vegetables were bland and lacked flavor while the French fries were rather ordinary. I ordered the coquilles fruits de mer; extremely small scallops and shrimp.....rather salty in a cheesy sauce . Again, vegetables needed more zest.....broccoli seemed previously frozen. Small but good selection of wine. Nice atmosphere outside on the patio .......the waiter was efficient and extremely friendly. Not sure if we will return as the food lacked the " wow factor".

We had a good evening eating and drinking here. WE shared a very good medituranean salad and some good roast chicken and a bottle of red wine. All good and price as reasonable.

While attending Victoriaville's "Festival de la Musique Actuelle", a yearly May event, we decided to try the Café-Resto Le Gavroche. We arrived at about 5:30 PM and were greeted by a pleasant young lady who seated us in the front sunroom section and presented us with French menus. We asked if they had English ones available since one of our dining companions did not understand French. None were available, so we ended up translating for our friend.
The initial server (the same one who seated us) appeared unable to answer our questions, and after she disappeared to see what the soup of the day was, another more experienced server appeared and she did an excellent job throughout the meal.
We all ordered fish or seafood; (walleye, sautéed scallops, sautéed scrimp). I must add that both the fish and seafood were cooked just right, not over-cooked as often happens in some restaurants. We all enjoyed our dishes, each dish served with its own tasteful sauce. As appetizers, we all had a delicious salad of greens, fruit, and almonds topped with a light dressing. Our biggest surprise was the wine list. Everything on the wine list was only $19.00. We took a French white wine (suggested by the server) which went well with all our dishes. For dessert, two of us had Napoleans and I had a maple-type of cake. They were good but nothing to write home about. The regular coffee was normal restaurant-style coffee.
All in all, we were quite pleased and surprised to find such a restaurant in Victoriaville. Try Le Gavroche; you'll enjoy it!

On our last business trip to Victoriaville, I found Le Communard on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a try. Once again, we were pleasantly surprised! The food was wonderful with a nice offering from the chef for starters, great entrees and then we could not resist the dessert. Although the waitress spoke little English, she did an exceptional job. I can't wait to try this place again!!

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Quebec City. Sitting on the patio on rue Notre Dame was very nice. The salad was delicious, while the main meal was average. The service was not as friendly as we would like. Price was OK.
