Was man im Rathauskeller - Zunftstube oder Bistro - geniesst, sind weitgehend eigene Kreationen, manchmal auch bekannte Klassiker modern interpretiert. Selten wird die Schweizer Kuche so kreativ und doch marktfrisch umgesetzt. Ziel ist es, dem Gemuse, Fleisch oder Fisch seinen wahren ursprunglichen Geschmack zu entlocken, deren ureigene Aromen verwegen gegeneinander auszuspielen und so optimal zur Entfaltung zu bringen. In a cosy environment directly in the old town, you can choose some excellent meals very well presented by an efficient service team. The beef steak that I tried was really succulent!

Chutzpah! The prices are astronomical, they do not have any correlation with the quality of the food, which is mediocre. The waiters have no knowledge of Thai food. They were pleasant enough, but neophytes and clueless about Thai food, nonetheless. One thing must be said: if you get a table by the window on a nice day, the views of the lake and sun setting behind the Alps may help you heal some of the sticker shock. So dear owners, rename this restaurant: Buenavista Restaurant (which serves Thai food)

Wonderful chef, delicious food and always simply wonderful. Definitely perfect for any occasion. Whether business lunch, romantic dinner, extended lunch with friends - always great!

We were on a Sunday afternoon with a group of 10 people in this restaurant. Although we had a reservation for a table they didn't remember our wish for a cold platter with meat and cheese. The service staff was even overwhelmed with serving our beverages. It took several time and reminders until each of us got what was ordered. After almost one hour we got our cold platter, nothing special to say, cheap cheese, everything not very well dished up and the bread was already dried up ! Later on we ordered some desserts, I just wanna mention the "Caramelköpfli" for Fr. 9.50, absolutely carelessly displayed, really a bad joke for what you get! I will never again visit this restaurant or hotel!

Went with friends for a special dinner. First, Aklin's location is very special. Located in the Old Town of Zug, the setting is picturesque and unique.
The inside of the restaurant is intimate and the service led by the restauranteur Gregory Walker is so special that makes you feel like a king from the minute you arrive until the last sip of Etter sherry brandy.
The food deserves another paragraph. A very special one. The meat comes from the butcher downstairs. We had a Chateaubriand with bearnaise sauce. As Chef Gordon Ramsay says: "It is to die for"
For me, it is a required stop if you are in Zug, Zurich, Swiss and Europe :)

Fischmark offers very tasty Italian food in cosy surroundings in the scenic Old Town of Zug close to the lake. The service was warm and friendly, the wine list is extensive and good value by Swiss standards. Portions are in line with Italian norms - so the ravioli is a primo platte serving. The Panna cotta was very tasty to close and we would certainly return. Three courses at dinner with wine and sparkling water was CHF 80 a person.

Quintessential Italian in Zug. We enjoyed the Set menu (3 or 4 courses), all of which was excellent. Good portion size....not too much, with attentive service without being overbearing. Varied and reasonable wine list. And had the weather cooperated, we could have enjoyed our meal on the patio with an awesome view of the city and Lake Zug.

Top restaurant, with very good service. We took the 5 courses menu, which was excellent. The chef surprised us with the 5 outstanding dishes. Definitely worth to go for dinner!
One point for improvement, next time the waitress should not just mention the special of the day, but also quickly explain the card.

Excellent food, wonderful friendly staff, great location
Located in the small village of Oberaegeri, in Canton Zug.
The restaurant specialises in serving fresh food and in particular what is in season.
Passed it often and so surprised when finally had a meal there.
Not over priced
Warm and friendly atmosphere.
Will be back

Had lunch here on a wonderful Spring day overlooking lake Zugersee. The restaurant is clean, well presented and provides tables with beautiful views over of the lake.
