I visited Tomasso's as part of a work lunch for one of my customers in Trenton at their recommendation. Camille did a good job of looking after us during our visit. The food was enjoyed by all and the view from the back of the restaurant of the river was very nice.
I tend to follow the recommendations of my local customers. It is nice to see that the TripAdvisor community enjoys the food as well--#1 rating in Trenton.

It's how we started in 1970 and what made us famous! We make our dough daily from scratch. We only use the best, freshest ingredients, which we chop and slice in-house. We only use 100% mozzarella cheese. Finally, our sauce is made using California ultra-premium plum tomatoes, which we have chosen for their exquisite flavour profile, which is a perfect complement to our unique blend of spices.

Perhaps my expectations were too high after eating pizza in restaurant IL Focolaio in Montreal a week earlier. This was the third pizza I had on my trip through Canada (one in Niagara Falls and one in Montreal) and this was definitely the worst. The topping was okay, but the crust was really mediocre at best. Very thick, not a great taste in the crust and also no air in it. And now I think of it, this was also the most expensive pizza I had (20 CAD, excl. taxes). It was an average pizza, but because of the high price I rate it only 2 stars.

We got there thinking it was simply a Cafe...Turns out its a full service restaurant...
Its run very well & the food we Enjoyed was awesome!!! The one thing I absolutely love is the coffee is self serve so you can help yourself...
The restaurant is family, couple, group friendly..The prices are very good!!! The food is delicious...
I would recommend it to everyone...

Dapp's has received many awards for their "home cooking" and I struggled to find that to be the case during a recent visit. Like most diner style restaurants, the coffee was boring, weak and devoid of flavour. The food was moderately priced, the home fries were very bland and although they were actual fried potatoes, a heaping of spices would have kicked the flavour up a notch.
The staff were very gracious, helpful and took a tremendous amount of pride in their job. They were engaging, and were eager to make the dining experience as pleasant as possible.
This restaurant is not a place I'd rush back to, but if you're okay with great service and average food, this place will make you a frequent visitor.

Friendly waitress, but I thought from the Trip Advisor reviews that the food would be better than it was. Good sized portions. We would probably stop someplace else next time when travelling the 401, but if we landed here again, that would be ok too.

I've always raved about The Grind being as good or better than the finest boutique coffee shops in larger cities. Last time I went however the drip coffee was substandard, watery and lacking in any body. I chalked this up to a single bad pit but went again last week with the same experience. It was so bad I actually left half a cup unfinished. My friend said his latte was excellent but being a 'drip only' sort don't think I'll be going back.

We spent a weekend in Trenton while we visited Sandbanks with the family. We were 3 families all together and a total of 12 hungry people. We all love food and cooking so eating out is a challenge to find places that meet our standards. We also have gluten, peanut and treenut allergies in the family so if anyone is challenged to find a great spot it's us.
The Port was awesome! Loved their menu, our large table of 12 was waiting for us when we got there, of course 12 people we made Reservations but we were seated right away and taken care of from the minute we walked in the minute we left. It was so good we would have gone every night we were there which is what we plan on doing the next time we're in town.
The owner was a gem, he came by and brought a bucket full of fun goodies and let the kids pick something from the box to keep them busy. He did not cheap out either on those goodies, he knew exactly what the kids like today!
Overall one of the best restaurant experiences we have all had with the entire family. Can't wait to go back. The only negative thing I can say is that it's in Trenton and not in Oakville so we can't go on a regular basis!! But we will def make the trip to come again.
Thanks Port for being super awesome and hope to treat our pallets again soon!

The woman at the thrift shop in Colborne, when we asked for a good place to eat, said that this fish and chips place in Trenton was "the best in the world". So we went
Was it? I'm not so sure it could compare to that wonderful place in Summerland, B.C. (Cozy Bay Seafood). But it was mighty good fish......flaky rather than mushy. Batter wasn't too greasy, either. But to me the highlight was a delightful fish chowder that was thick with fish and potatoes and had such a lovely flavour.........and was only $4. Or, in this case, it was part of the 'special'.
There were only two things that kept me from giving it 5 stars. (1) was the stale crackers. (2) The other was the commercial rock radio station playing in the background---not quite loud enough so you could hear and enjoy the music, but irritating enough so it created an unpleasant aural atmosphere. I really wish restauranters would be more mindful of the 'sound' atmosphere they want to create. And possibly a third: the french fries, while they're good, aren't the kind I really like with the peel still on the potato.
But very reasonable prices.
But yes........we'll come back next time we're in the area and have a craving for fish and chips.
