Sultan Bakery

Reviewed By Carol_R99SO - Washington

Dessert items here are fine, but the meals are subpar. Quantities are huge and prices are very reasonable, but the food is just not terribly good. I have eaten dinner here twice recently on my way home from hiking. My first meal was the open-faced hot meat loaf sandwich with mashed potatoes. The meat loaf had a lot of gristle in it, which suggests poor quality meat. My second meal was the roast pork dinner. The pork seemed fine, but the mashed potatoes were whipped rather than mashed. It was an enormous amount of food for $9, but poor quality overall. Based on the very average dinners, I would not try the breakfast or lunch items. I will look for another place to stop for food along Highway 2 or just wait until I get home.

Sky River Bakery

Sky River Bakery is on Main Street in the middle of the block. Seems that the owners are there working? I'm now a return customer every time I get to Monroe. A local bakery serving fresh homemade products, they have some inside seating for couples and one small table for four. People always coming and going. Quiche is the usual choice for me, but Morning Glory Muffin is my favorite. Get the muffin if only passing through once. Will return.

Adam's Northwest Bistro & Brewery

Reviewed By TraceyRB72 - Chattaroy, Washington

First of all, it was quite confusing concerning the two different brewery names. We actually thought this was the brewery as this was stated in their name. However, we found out later after we left that the actual brewery is next door and labeled as Twin Rivers Brewery. With that being said, Adams was a nice place and with very good service. We stuck to the happy hour menu and was able to sample three of their meals which were so very yummy. We had the fried calamari, cornmeal oysters, and the bacon cheese fries. Yum! For our beverages we had the house nut brown and the halfwit, which were ok, but not spectacular.

We really like this little coffee shop and stop by whenever we are passing through. Today unfortunately we ordered the wrong thing.

About the coffee shop. Unassuming little shop with big window and comfortable seating inside strip mall. Clean and well organized.

Coffee service - they roast their own coffee which is very good. All other visits have been great and we've always enjoyed the service as well as, our lattes and Americanos.

Today was an off day. We ordered two dirty chais. Not sure what was used to make these, but it seemed like milk, cinnamon and sugar. The cinnamon all floated to top (like two teaspoons). No essence of cardamom whatsoever. Disappointed but will be back for regular espresso next time.

Still giving them four stars as their coffee is very good. Until today, it has always been a good experience.

My husband and I drove 50 miles to try this place in Monroe, WA. It was a great dining experience. Small, quaint place, wasn't to spendy, and the portions are enough for 2 meals. The service was excellent, the food was good, and their baklava ice cream was to die for. The drinks were also surprisingly lower than other restaurants. We had a great experience, and even tipped the server $20. We spoke with the manager, and thanked them for a great dining experience. Will definitely be back.

Vick's Burger Shack

Vick's Burger Shack ("The Shack") is an old-fashion, walk-up window style hamburger stand. We serve only fresh-ground beef (never frozen) cooked to order over a real char broiler. We make our milkshakes and malts from real, hand-scooped ice cream--complete with real whipped cream and a cherry on top!Want fries with that? Be sure to try our fry sauce, tartar sauce, or ranch dressing for dipping. We make 'em all, from scratch, right here at The Shack. For you root beer lovers, we serve Big E Ales' Root Beer on tap! (It makes a great root beer float and a really incredible root beer shake.)

Stopped with 3 Grandsons on way to Leavenworth. Good quality meat in burgers. Fresh ingredients. Hand dipped milk shakes that the kids liked. But for 2 kid burgers with fries and 3 burgers, order of fries and onion rings with 2 pops and 3 shakes just short of $55. Seemed expensive! Doubt we'd stop there again.

Benjarong Thai Restaurant

Reviewed By Shyam S - Seattle, Washington

Benjarong Thai is located in the Monroe Plaza on Hwy 2. The food is authentic Thai and the service is very good. The place is fairly crowded during lunch hour but the wait time is minimal, almost non-existent. The prices are moderate costing less than $10 for any entree. The dessert, mango ice-cream is on the house. So is the coleslaw.
