Stopped late afternoon for an early dinner. Being mid March it was very quiet unlike our previous visit
Soft shell crab starter was gorgeous, prawns in garlic were also nice but larger prawns would be better than the small ones they use. We both had pizzas for our main and they were excellent with extremely generous toppings on both. A side of very nice fries topped off our meal
Location on the beach is fantastic and we would definitely return if in the area again

Having driven round St Austell, found nowhere to eat! Took a slight detour home to our hols cottage in Mevagissey and fell onto the Polgooth Inn - and at 1800 on Tuesday before the season begins the car park was full-must be a good sign, so we chanced it.
And what a find! Lovely welcoming inn, dog friendly and cracking food. The staff were lovely, the food - wow; the boss says ‘best ribs ever’ and my ‘brisket burnt ends’ were fantastic. And the beer, the St Austells range (including HSD lovely!!).
Can’t recommend enough!!
(Might even do a cheeky return visit before we venture back north)

Kingswood Bar & Restaurant is most certainly Licence and a fine supplier of many Cornish produce to include the very latest sections of Tarquins Cornish gins! and Cornish Wines
If you are a fan of absolute fresh seafood the do not miss their Cornish Shellfish De La Mer. or the absolute best of USDA beef steaks!! I recommend you pre book in advance not to be disappointed

We stayed at the Britannia Inn for 3 nights in February. The room (Tregrehen) was huge and the bathroom was well appointed. The shower cubicle was very cosy and bigger people might have struggled to shower comfortably. The towels were good quality and the room was serviced well daily. Our only issue with the bedroom was we felt a king sized bed would have been more comfortable and the room was more than big enough to accommodate it. We also felt the mattress was on the soft side but that is personal preference of course.
We ate dinner twice, lunch twice and enjoyed 3 delicious breakfasts. Waves restaurant is beautifully decorated and the tables are all a good size. The menu was large and varied and everything we ate was good quality and value. All staff we met at each meal were friendly, helpful and efficient. They are all a real asset and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Popped in for breakfast just before heading home after our mini break in Charlestown. Wow-its a little gem. So welcoming and delightfully decorated. I had crumpets a-probably the best I have ever eaten. Husband had bacon and scrambled egg with two wonderfully thick pieces of granary toast. Perfect .
The cakes and scones looked delicious as well.
Lovely, friendly staff.

In the winter after a lovely walk on the beach, come and relax in front of our roaring fires, we serve quality Ale from St Austell Brewery. We also serve a selection of hot drinks. Just returned from celebrating our anniversary by having a carvery here, quaint charming looking pub/restaurant, but dont be fooled by appearances, the staff were not welcoming or friendly, the carvery was advertised at a fiver (its only a fiver if you purchase a drink as well, and doesnt say that on the ad board outside, if you dont want to buy a drink its £5.95.) There was a choice of beef or pork, the beef was tough and didnt taste very nice, the Yorkshire puds were stale and rubbery, and though the veg and roast spuds were nice, we wont be back anytime soon and wouldnt recommend.

We booked the Strand for an after funeral reception after meeting Jonathon and discussing our needs. He provided a wonderful 'Cornish' buffet of freshly cooked Pasties, large trays of freshly prepared sandwiches of various fillings and bowls of chips. All this was followed with scones with Jam and Cream on topped with a strawberry plus other cakes. Tea and coffee on a help yourself basis. The quality of the food was superb. the service was excellent too. The adjoining Pub (The New Inn) serves a good pint and all other drinks.

Ordered a take away this evening, having never eaten in, or from this restaurant before.
Food was collected and upon collection was also given a complimentary bottle of beer and when I got it home, found that I had been given complimentary starters also!
Take away cartons were full to the brim and the naan breads were huge!
Chicken was beautiful, literally fell apart whilst digging into it with a fork.
Very tasty and really well priced.
Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and will now make the Ghurka my first choice for an Indian style take away.
Well done!!!
Great meal and great value.
Recommend to anyone.
