This is less a restaurant and more a food stall. There are no tables and people line up to get their sandwiches. The lines can be quite long as the staff grills the meat as needed.
The Sandwich was awesome. We got a Sandwich with Cevapi, a grilled meat dish from Bosnia and Herzegovinia, ajvar, a red bell pepper and eggplant sauce, and kajmak, a Balkan clotted cream. Oh, what would I give to have another Sandwich from Kantun Paulina right now!

After a very tiring day traveling across Split we fortunately ended up at Villa Spiza based on the recommendation at Lonely Planet for a dinner. We did not make any advance reservation, hence the chances looked bleak when we arrived. There was a long queue, hence we had to wait almost 45 mins, however had fun while we waited. The 2 ladies managing almost everything (Everything!) served beer while we waited and the time went by watching people across the narrow lane and by the the smell of sea food.
Whatever we selected (Seafood pasta, Mussels, seafood risotto, calamari) were heavenly! The hosts made us feel warm and enjoy our food till the end.. …think we were the last to leave the place! (actually, never wanted to )
Be there.. try Villa Spiza … you will get much more in the 2 hours you spend there!

Opened in 2013, Dvor has become one of the best Croatian restaurants in just three years. Dvor features a serene and intimate environment with spectacular views of Adriatic sea and the nearby Islands of Brac and Solta. The cooking philosophy of chef and part-owner Boris Asanović is the preparation of traditional Dalmatian dishes at a higher level. The menu changes seasonally. In the spring and summer is more based on sea, and in the autumn and winter to the land products. The wine list is based on the Dalmatian wines and wines of other Croatian regions.

We had a party of 10 and the staff served us smoothly and attentively without problem. Delicious food, creative menu, wonderful wine menu, dark and cozy atmosphere at night with a beautiful view. The restaurant is on the water, and in lovely weather the outdoor Seating looked very appealing. A bit of a distance from downtown, so keeps it from being overly touristy. This was recommended to us and we were not disappointed.

Great wine selection. Even by the glass the selection is good with over half a dozen reds and another half dozen whites and a few rose available. The food looked and smelled great, I didn't try it. Saturday night had live music. A couple of guys with guitars. They were pretty good. A bit pricey. The bartender was fairly knowledgeable about the wines. All of the staff seemed good.

The main grill is in the dining area, offering a great view of our grill master in action. It is perfectly located just off the main Marmontova street, and still set in a way that offers enough space and privacy for our guests. Reservations recommended. Enjoyed our dinner here but was a little cold given it was December. The staff were friendly and the service and food was good. If coming here in winter months, dress warm as although enclosed/covered and heated with warmers it still is outdoors. Would recommend though.

Nice place, well located in the city. we did not book a table in advance, and we found when we arrived. Food - all delicious, quality and fresh products. the only thing that really hindered this loud music, which created an obstacle for conversation. waiters are attentive, try to open the door to every new guest, but not always in time approached the table, you had to call or wait. The place is not cheap for this region, but compared to Moscow or Madrid, this restaurant is very affordable. the menu is small, but quite diverse.

Made a reservation after smelling the truffles wafting through the alleyways of the palace. Ended up being the only meal I've really enjoyed in all of Croatia. Home style cooking with a lot of care. Octopus starter is a standout. Also the shrimp ravioli and beef specialty of the house were amazing. Beautiful sauces and gravies good for dipping. House wines good. Server was also class. We will come again.

The owners and operators of To Je Tako provided a private and unique Thanksgiving Event for Americans (and many other nations) living in Split. It was an exceptional meal and directed by those two lovely owners with warm smiles and absolutely perfect service. We felt like a family surrounded with care and joy. Food was excellent. Everybody had a wonderful expat Thanksgiving. A+++

First meal upon arriving in Split. Had to find somewhere to eat as our airbnb wasn't ready yet. Glad we came across Torito. Waitress was helpful in recommending food and service was quick. Had the beef which was so tender. Lovely place right in the city center.
