Had the tasting menu here with the wine flight. It was amazing and each dish was delicious. The paired wines were fantastic.
The service was so friendly which was really nice as we had felt a little akward due to the grandeur of the location.
The breakfast in the morning was also great.
Would love to visit here again.
also could not believe it did not have a michelin star - this meal for far superior to other places we tried this trip which do have one!

At the Old Station Restaurant & Bar we offer great locally sourced food at reasonable prices. Dine in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, in the unique setting of a converted Victorian railway station on the world famous West Highland Line. Interesting location, very friendly staff although slow service and the food was disappointing especially for the price paid.
This Restaurant obviously thrives on the tourists as anywhere else they would need to do much better. We travel this road monthly and will not visit again

As locals this is one of our favourite places to eat. Visitèd tonight and even although weather horrible,it is quite busy with tourists. Staff are all so friendly s usual.
New menu with an intruiging new starter, beans on toast!,, This consists of mixed beans with a tomato sauce and cheese served on foccacio bread, was lovely,co pliments to the chef. Had my usual chicken rumbledethumps which was lovely and a massive portion. No room for pudding., 2 courses and 2 drinks each for £54, excellent value for a lovely meal.

The food was fine, nothing special. A seafood linguine dish was cooked fine, had some local mussels, hot-smoked salmon, one large scallop, and some kind of whitefish (maybe haddock). The garlic and butter sauce was understated, which suited me. Mussels steamed with cider and bacon were delicious, although roughly a third of the mussels were unopened when served (meaning not safe to eat). The server promptly brought us a couple of complimentary glasses of the wine we were drinking after we mentioned it.
I'd think the owners would want to invest in a grill and serve a daily catch of grilled or broiled fresh fish, but there was nothing like that on the menu.
The wine list was adequate, nothing notable but also priced appropriately.

We booked a table here through a recommendation. Although the hotel is in a fabulous setting and lovely inside we felt uncomfortable sat in the lounge with our drinks, there seemed to be no atmosphere at all. It seemed strange to order your meal before being seated at your table and we felt a little rushed to choose. The meal itself was lovely but overpriced for what it was as were the drinks. We had a starter and main course but didn't feel full afterwards.

When I saw the leaflet about the "chef atomic sauce challenge", I should have guessed. A good place does not need such silly enternainement to attract customers. Neither does a genuine Chef...
We dropped by for lunch on a cold and rainy day on our cycling way. We were greeted sullenly by a young lady. No other customers were there.
We asked for the soup of the day as starter and some tea for two.
The tea was very very light : without any tea bags in it. Milk provided in sticks.
The soup was just awful : tinned tomatoes of cheap quality just taken out of the can (could feel the metallic taste of it), mixed, microwawed, topped with a tiny pinch of dried basil... and that's all !
The bread was served without any butter, the loaf as small as a todler's fist. Very soft and warm (just microwaved).
We did not ordered anything else to eat, it could have been worse.
Decoration and furnitures were the usual for this type of trap : loads of useless stuffs piled up everywhere such as various types of swords, toys etc. usual wooden panels displaying knots or the average local wreckage story etc. etc.
Music was good, heat was on which were the only positive points.
I guess that some customers and tourists might find this place quite exotic and typical. We just find it a pretentious and deceptive cheap place.
Er... cheap is not the right word when you pay £11 for such grub.

34 cyclists - we had pre booked but then our plans fell apart because of a cancelled ferry from Barra. Despite us arriving en masse at 12.30am the cheerful duty manager was there to sort out everything for us and the rooms were basic but clean (and cheap). Breakfast in the morning was the full Scottish - ideal for a long day's cycle ahead of us. The hotel is competitively priced so don't look for too many frills but it's well worth the money.

Stopped for a quick coffee en route to home. Actual food was ok but uninspiring. Clearly aiming at bus groups and staff were cleaning up before rather than after closing time, which never helps. Incredible to find that the only toilets for such a large restaurant were the public toilets in the car park ! They were disgusting as to be expected and that has to reflect on the restaurant if they choose to claim those toilets as their own ! We wouldn’t call again.
