A bit out of the crowded restaurant area on the harbour, 5 minutes walk in the climbing in the small pittoresk streets appear a garden of taste ... This restaurant is just excellent for the quality of food, the traditional dishes and the service ... Family owned, all dishes are excellent : try in particular the lamb and the stifado. Deserves really a visit ...

We chose this restaurant based on trip advisor, service was excellent- very attentive staff with lots of recommendations, gave water to our dog and were really friendly. Food was delicious - we had a variety of dishes mainly with fish, their salmon was excellent. The fresh fish was also excellent. We tried some appetizers and salads - also excellent. We also had a recommended greek rose which was the best we had on Skopelos.
Give it a try!

Local tastes like pork with apples and plums, tenderloin with mushroom sauce, kebab, traditional meatballs, appetisers including ingredients from the same garden that surrounds you, aubergine, mushrooms, coriander, rosemary... in and endless menu that fulfils nearly all demanding tastes. Classy, unique, genuine. Impressed. Every year for the last 5 years.

When visiting the Greek Islands we lok to eat in traditional tavernas and not the ones in te tourist areas or with pictures on their menus!
It was therefore necessary to put Finikas ( means palm tree i believe) on our list of places to eat in he evening
On arrival we were met with a very warm welcome and took up the second to last table available, the last being taken a few minutes later
Food was delicious and we can highly recommend the meatballs from the meze menu as a starter and of course the pork rolled in apple and plums which was, and appears to always be, the special
The one downside, we were told the pork was served with salad and potatoes.it came with chips which were very soggy as they were sitting in the gravy. I would ask for my chips on a side dish or perhaps potatoes instead.
House rose was great and cery good value
Yup, we would return to try different items from the menu
Go along expecting a very traditional atmosphere and food and you will leave very happy and with a number of euros still in your pocket!

Visited there with a Greek Friend - it's a pleasant place to sit, eat and while away the evening. The atmosphere was calm, the service good and the food okay.

I discovered this place by chance. And what kind of amazing discovery! I loved it and I had the most delicious and pleasant dinner of the holiday.
First of all the location is characteristic and colourful. The bar close to the restaurant plays beautiful jazz music, which made my dinner great.
The waiter is really kind: he offered my mom two servings of beer and after dinner a plate of watermelon.
In the menu there are not many dishes but in my opinion this is what makes the restaurant even more genuine. We had a gorgones salad (three different salads with tomatoes, mushrooms, local cheese and a balsamic dressing) which they serve with bread and an olive pate. Then we took two "today's special" plates: pork with plums and grilled swordfish. They were both amazing: we loved it. Finally I took one glass of ouzo. I had no problems because of my intolerance to gluten (I'm celiac and the dinner was ok for me).
Everything costs us 42€. Do I have to say more? Gorgones, thank you for this dinner, we will come back again!
Locale scoperto per caso ma che bellissima scoperta! Location caratteristica, bella musica jazz proveniente dal locale accanto e personale meraviglioso.
In due abbiamo ordinato un'insalata Gorgones (mix di insalate con pomodori, formaggio locale grattugiato e dressing all'aceto balsamico), due piatti del giorno (pescespada grigliato e maiale con le prugne), una birra e dell'acqua. La casa ha offerto pane e pate di olive, una seconda birra, del melone e l'ouzo.
Tutto questo per 42€. Che dire? Posto fantastico, ha reso la nostra cena speciale e sicuramente lo ricorderemo sempre. Consigliatissimo a tutti, compresi i celiaci (io ho cenato senza problemi).

We ate here twice during our week in Skopelos and enjoyed the food and service on each occassion. The location overlooks the bay with tables outside (weather permitting however they do supply blankets for those feeling the cold during their meals). The menu is quite big with a good selection of starters and main courses including some greek specialities. It also has an ample wine list. The atmosphere is relaxed and the waiters are friendly and informative. The food is not cheap here but the ambience, food and service we thought was worth it. The weather changed for the worse on our last night with no tables outside so I recommend you book ahead if you're planning a visit. My wife celebtrated her birthday here and the staff dimmed the lights , sang happy birthday and presented her with a special dessert with a candle and sparklers!! Great night !!

2nd night in Skopelos and we had a meal at Gialos restaurant. We had a round of drinks plus 2 extras, 2 salads and 4 main courses. The tuna salad was good and plentiful. The Greek salad was tiny and the olives were rock hard, not a good choice. Main course choices were plentiful and they have a couple of specials on offer each day. The food was great, especially the roast potatoes which came with my chicken, tomato and feta dish, really nice. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the restaurant is a good place for people watching. Apart from the poor Greek salad one other thing which was not good at all was the bottled water which was 7euros50. Amazing price. This helped to bump to total price above 90 euros for a family of 4. Too much
I am rating the restaurant 3 out of 5 for the salad, water and overall being over priced. The food otherwise was 4 out of 5

The owner took advantage that we were a big group of people and charge us on purpose for 2 extra beers. I arrived at the bar with three friends and found a group of people we knew already seated. Four of us ordered cocktails and one ordered a beer. Everything was fine until 30 seconds after the group we knew left, when we tried to settle up. The waiter said their were 3 beers to pay for, when we said we only had one he said the group that had just left, had not paid for two beers. Assuming an honest mistake I paid for two more beers, thinking that the people I knew had forgotton to pay. Anyway to my suprise when I bumped into them later they said the waiter had been trying to charge them for three beers before we arrived when they had only had one. They had refused to pay for drinks they had not had and he left them alone.
When I confroted the waiter he insisted their were two extra beers so I gave up. In retrospect, it is clear to me that the waiter purposly waited until the other group had left to pull try and con some extra money out of an unsuspecting tourist.
My partner and I go to Skopelos every year and it was dissapointed to realise that the locals was trying to make few extra cash by cheating the tourist.
