Fine dining and a charming bistro atmosphere await you in this totally refurbished 19th century roadside inn

Saturday night for dinner. Reservations required, especially on the weekend. Menu needs to be updated on the website as there are some differences. It is varied with a good selection and you should be able to find something to your liking. Food preparation and presentation was very good. Large wine list and selection by the glass.

Seated promptly and a server was there quickly. Could have had a little more attention during the meal. Place was packed and the noise level was high. We were seated in one of the upstairs dining rooms and the noise reflected off the walls. Made it difficult to have a conversation at our table.

The quality of the food was such that even with those negatives I would go back.

Small little BYOB restaurant located in Skippack with a great patio to eat outside. Each little serving that came out was great. Just enough to share! The desserts were not small and very delicious. The wait staff was very friendly and everyone helped every party. The prices were a bit high but its nice for a special occasion.

A wonderful inviting establishment with warm and friendly service and excellent baked goods. The master baker is always there to say, "welcome" and explain the treats. I have been stopping in weekly since it opened and have been quite pleased to witness their success. Sunday mornings seem to be a ritual for many patrons as it is usually standing room only.

Collegeville Italian Bakery

Reviewed By TripNines - Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania

Visited with a bunch of guys from nearby development. Shortly after being seated, orders were taken. I had read their menu online and was aware they features a kielbasa (from Czerw's) sandwich so I knew what I wanted. After most of the others were served and halfway through their lunches, I was told they had no kielbasa and asked if I would want something else. Knowing that, by the time I decided and my lunch was delivered everyone else would be finished, I said no.

Many of the others seemed to enjoy their lunch, but there is absolutely no excuse to make someone wait more than 20 minutes to inform them that they would have to order something else because they had run out of a their selection. They had a big crowd so I guess it didn't pay for them to worry about a single customer. There are too many other good Italian restaurants in the area to give them another shot.

Check this place out!! The owner has created some fabulous menu offerings including super-good brick oven pizzas traditional and unique, creative salads, sandwiches, and even mac & cheese. The food is fresh and served at the right temperature. Good for families, groups, singles, business lunch, dinner (BYOB), and I hear there's entertainment on Thursdays. The entire staff is warm and welcoming. The sauces are house made, too. This is not your average pizza joint. It's so much more. You can dine upstairs or order your meal at the counter and sit at a window seat or small dining room on the first floor. They're always busy when I go there, which is a great sign!

My wife and I were taken here by our children to celebrate my belated birthday, and my wife's birthday. We started off with what I would call the perfect Bloody Mary.
We followed that with appetizers that consisted of lamb chops, muscles and beef carpaccio. Every item was picture perfect and a treat to the palate.
Dinner entrées consisted of pan seared scallops with mussels, Italian beef shoulder and a chicken breast stuffed with sausage. Also a treat. All dishes were accompanied with a baby zucchini risotto.
The wines were perfectly paired to the meal thanks to my children's extensive knowledge. For the desserts we had a crème brûlée, a lemon tarragon cheesecake and a fantastic baked Alaska.
There are 23 places to eat in this quaint town. Based upon this meal I would have to say this is one of the best places.

My family went here on the recommendation of several people. We had the Chicken Pizza, Shrimp Scampi Pizza, and Corn Pizza (a summer special). All three pizzas were delicious. My mouth is watering as I write this because my taste buds are remembering the flavor. I also tried the Mushroom Carpaccio (shaved mushrooms and cheese). The restaurant deserves all the awards that it has earned.

These are authentic philly cheesesteaks. Check the bread boxes out when you enter. Sign of the real deal. We got a regular which we split and a large that lasted us 2 days. They are jammed with real ribeye beef and just enough cheese. For the price it was a diamond in the rough. This is a must even if its grab and go.

Carisma Restaurante

Reviewed By FutureTravelers - Pennsylvania

Whenever my wife and I want to go someplace quirky, fun, interesting and where the food is always delicious, we go to Carisma in Skippack Village - the owners are congenial, always joking and friendly, and greet us warmly when we arrive. This is NOT a standard taco place or anything like it. Carisma is a gourmet Mexican restaurant. The owner (who with his son are also the waiters) describes the fresh fish he has today, and the special steak dishes. Not surprised to find swordfish, octupus and other surprise seafood items on the specials list. I personally like any steak dish, whether shopped with veggies or "stuffed" with shrimp and cheese. Often we get coffee or tea and enjoy conversation while looking at all the Mexican dolls and toys that decorate the interior. The restaurant looks tiny when you first walk in but they have outside tables and tables upstairs. By the way, we've read some negative reviews from a few people and these always make us angry because we and all of our friends come here as our special getaway on date nights, for Sunday brunch and whenever we're bored and just want to come here and relax. We give Carisma and the family owners/operators our highest rating and compliments. They work REALLY hard, their food is creative and delicious, and we love Carisma.
