We stopped here for their Breakfast Buffet. Do not let the looks of this place fool you. The foot is great the service was friendly and very efficient. The place is rustic. You can sit inside, also in a Dining room that is open (With mosquito screens ) where you can enjoy the sounds of a babbling water feature and Lake Superior in the background. The morning breakfast buffed included a soup and salad bar. Their Tomato Basil soup is outstanding.

We've never had ice cream here, but have stopped for coffee here more than once. You can get a great cuppa here, and they're stocked with things like soy milk and almond milk for those of us who need it! Always friendly service, too :) No better feeling than heading up the north shore in the early morning with a tasty caffeinated beverage in your hands.

Stopped in about 3:30 for a late lunch. We had the BBQ chicken philly sandwich and the fish and chips. The fish and chips were very good. very lite batter. The BBQ chicken philly was good enough, but nothing special. I guess I was expecting something more from a place that's called a BBQ restaurant on the sign out front. The staff was very friendly and efficient as was Luca the dog who was trying very hard not to come in the restaurant from the lobby. We will stop here again.

The view and outdoor seating is superb. My daughter had the Hunters pie made with elk meat. It was so flavorful, just delicious. I tried the greens with mango salsa and the broccoli cheese soup. Both were excellent, the salad seemed like an unlikely combination but really works! We would definitely go back!

Cove Point Crossing

Reviewed By Mark E - Burlington, Wisconsin

I recently ate dinner at Cove Point Crossing near Beaver Bay on a Friday evening when passing through the area. I was staying in neighboring Silver Bay for the night, and this was close to my hotel, so I decided to give Cove Point a try again. I was here about 5-6 years ago on a trip to this area, and it seemed that the menu is quite more limited now than it was then. I was hoping to get a fish fry with it being Friday, but they had no fish fry on the menu. They pretty much only have burgers or pizza. I did decide to go with a small supreme pizza, and it was a pretty good pizza with a variety of toppings, including pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onion, and mushrooms. The waitress was very friendly, personable, and efficient, and I was very happy with how quickly the pizza was out. I felt like I only waited maybe 15 minutes, which was not bad at all. I did enjoy a Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy as well, and this was refreshing after a long day exploring the State Parks in the area. Their sign even has the Leinenkugel's logo, so I was delighted that they had some bottles available. The prices here were pretty reasonable, as well. I was a bit surprised that the place was over half empty on a Friday night, but I don't know if this is normal or not. Like I said, though, I felt like the menu was much smaller than my last time here. I remember them having a variety of sandwiches and salads, and I did not see any of that stuff on the menu this time. The way it is now, you better want burgers or pizza, as there is not much else on the menu. An enjoyable Friday dinner but small menu.

Cove Point Lodge Restaurant

Reviewed By Marie P - Plymouth

The restaurant/bar over looks Lake Superior. The breakfast buffet was filling, cereals, pickled herring, cheese & crackers. Hard Rolls and pastries scrambled eggs with ham, cheese and salsa. Bread for toasting. Only complaint it was the same both days. We had dinner there it was ok. It seemed like it was all pre-made and heated up. I could have done a better job of presentation. It was also pretty expensive.
