Bob's Diner

Typical old time Diner. Good food at a reasonable price. We had hot Turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy, and grilled pork chops (3) with the fixings. Everything was yummy. Plus ice cream from Back O Bob's IceCream. Our waitress, Sage, was very friendly and efficient! Glad we stopped there.

Great Food, Efficient & Accommodating Service. Had not been to this lovely restaurant in many years due to a relocation on my part. In the interim the ownership had changed, leading to some trepidation on my part. As soon as I stepped through the door, to be smilingly made to feel at home, my doubts fled. Greeter took the iniative in leading me to my date who had arrived early, and was seated out of site in a bar area.

Suzi's Bakeshop Cafe

Clean clean clean. Tasty and reasonably priced. The best deal is the pancakes (huge) with real maple syrup, and the breakfast sandwich. We get the one with the double sausage, egg, cheese, on a bagel or english muffin for 6 dollars. Almost too much to finish. All made quickly in the kitchen which is full visible to the diners. Suzi is an accomplished pastry chef as well, and the goodies are of the quality to be found in a high-end Austrian bakery.

Don't miss this place -- we've eaten at all the Sidney places in our 30 year residence of the area, and this one's at the top of the list.

Our experience with Huff's is from using their services for fundraisers for our local church.
They are always helpful with supplying a freezer and the large tubs of Perry's brand ice cream (always a favorite in the area). Many flavors are available and any unopened containers are gladly accepted for return.

Parkview Deli

This is an adorable place and it is unassumingly wonderful!! The staff were wonderful and the food was out of this world! The hot subs were delish and the garbage fries seriously rocked my world! (I was nervous about ordering them but I still have dreams about them!) It has a large menu for such a small place and everything is made special to order. They have limited seating inside the store and picnic tables outside of the store. There is no fountain soda machines or ice, but there are tons of ice cold beverages in the coolers.

We will certainly go back here next time we are in town, until then I am going to try to keep recreating the garbage fries!

With 2 young grandsons on our way to Plattsburgh so we needed a quick lunch. The interior is indeed very nice. However the bathrooms are so tiny and not well looked after by the staff. Picnic tables outside but no playground for the kids. A 4 because lunch was quick and hot!

Highway 7 Bar and Grill

Was there with a friend on a Saturday night, and sat at the bar and had beers and snack type food. Bar service was pretty good, but it took forever to get our food. Also, there were some inebriated patrons that were a bit obnoxious nearby. I am sure that would not have been a problem if we had sat at a table instead of the bar. When we did get our food, it was very good. Fresh warm flatbread, and a really big salad, chock full of chicken. Beer assortment was good, and though we did not drink anything other than beer, we watched the bar tenders make several drinks and they seemed to be pretty good at what they did. We would probably come back another time for an actual meal, as the menu seemed to have a pretty good selection of food for a good lunch or dinner. Would have given another star if not for the slow food and inebriated patron. Pleasant staff, and the overall bill was really very reasonable, too.

Varied menu: salads, pizza, pasta, burgers, hot/cold subs, baked pasta. The free garlic knots were excellent. We had a combination pizza here, half meat and half veggie. It was really very good, not doughty, meat very tasty, just enough. Wine selection was pretty good as well. Fast service and no tips, as they pay their employees a living wage. The type of business to have more off. Prices were very good as well!

Great little place...nice wait staff...cook even came out when I had a special request.
Who does that?
A good place that wants your business and wants to make you happy.
Can't beat the spinach and feta omelet; the gyro is delicious.
They're there to fill your coffee, get you water, ask if everything is ok.
Their chocolate cream pie is great--more rich than the usual pudding pie.
Their prices are crazy reasonable. You can sit and relax and visit and drink coffee
and never feel rushed.
LOVE IT here...but guess I already said that.

S & S Cafe

Reviewed By JonJ956 - Holyoke

Stopped here on our way through town to get some lunch and ordered takeout. We ordered wraps, $6.95 ea, and I was told they'd be ready in 15-20 minutes. I left and came back 30 minutes later. The waitress peaked behind the curtain into the kitchen and said "that takeout order is here", and some huddled discussion ensued. She came over and said "it'll just be a couple minutes". Ha, right. 20 minutes later, after they finally got around to cooking our food, I got my takeout boxes and headed out the door.

I hopped in the car and passed the food to my wife, and the first thing we notice is that we've got sandwiches, not wraps. Meh, not a big deal. The next thing we notice is that our food looks, feels, and tastes like its been used as a grease sponge. I mean, you could wring this thing out. I should have taken a picture, but I was too busy trying to contain the hazardous waste spill occurring in the front seat of my car. Now don't get me wrong, grease can be good. Some foods are greasy in a good way, hell even sandwiches can be good greasy. This was not that. This was like someone had taped down the button on the Pam can and aimed it at my sandwich for 5 minutes before tossing it in the styrofoam takeout container. I had ordered the sweet potato fries as a side, and they were just the kind you can buy in bags in the freezer section of the grocery store. I wasn't expecting gourmet, but I was expecting more than bland reheated freezer food. My wifes sandwich wasn't much better.

On the upside, this mistake only cost me $15 for two sandwiches. Cheap enough to give it a shot for yourself, if you dare.
