Trattoria Stefano

Reviewed By evergreenrancher - Mequon, Wisconsin

In December, in Wisconsin it is time for hunkering down and having some comfort food. My wife and I tried several of the dishes at Trattoria Stefano and found ourselves immersed in intense winter flavors. Pork loin wrapped in pork belly was my favorite. My wife loved the cuttlefish with more delicate tones of lemon and a bit of garlic. Service and ambiance struck us both as warm and inviting. This venue is a winter treat that we won’t forget.

Il Ritrovo

Reviewed By Philip G - Salt Lake City, Utah

When Stefano's opened years ago, we drove up from Milwaukee to see what the raves were all about. Stefano's became our twice a month culinary journey, & when Il Ritrovo opened, we would order two pizzas to go after dinner, and bring them back to Bayside.

Years have passed, and I am old, Stefano is middle aged, Lino owns his own place, and Il Retrivo is better than ever. We flew back to Wisconsin from SLC for a wedding in Sheboygan and ate lunch at Il Retrivo before the wedding. Pizza was Napoli good. Pastas were what I wish was served in Salt Lake City, al dente with savory, but light saucing. Service was Wisconsin nice with Italian pronunciation. The Stefano Empire is Eataly in bratwurst country. Stefano has done so much for Sheboygan,
and our trip down memory lane was fantastic. Thank you Stefano and regards.

Majerle's Black River Grill

We are nestled within the evergreen trees, we offer you a fine menu of American Cuisine, complimented with local favorites. If you are not hungry, sit at the bar and choose from our large selection of beer, wine, and liquor.

We visited on a Friday for the perch. Restaurant has a small bar area upon entering
and a small dining room. Perch was fried well with acceptable flavor. Fries were not hot enough and therefore lacked the snap and quality one would like. Friendly wait staff. Good value and acceptable food and it easy to see why locals like the history and cuisine. There are better options in the area but you should not leave disappointed if you go with the proper expectations.

The Duke Of Devon

The Duke of Devon specializes in GastroPub cuisine, English Pub favorites and some Indian curries. All dishes are crafted with premium ingredients that are organic and locally sourced. The bar has an extensive bourbon section along with hard to find English beers and ciders.

Reviewed By Parrot434 - Vernon Hills, Illinois

Part of a group of family owned and operated restaurants in Sheboygan, Duke of Devon's decor indulges heavily and interestingly in an authentic British pub atmosphere. However, the food offerings range from traditional Fish (Cod) and Chips to excellent seafood specials, curry chicken and other creative entrees and salad items that would not be typical at your states-side British style pub. The incredible selection of wine and beer will entice you to try something even if not an imbiber. Located on the waterfront. One of our must dinner stops when in town.

Black Pig

Reviewed By Ruth L - Sheboygan, Wisconsin

My friends and I came for dinner before the theater. The hostess couldn't find our reservation. But, she seated us immediately at a window table, which was nice, except the light over the table wasn't working, and there was no table candle, and it was dark outside. Service was slow. The menu was limited. We had truffle fries with Parmesan, which were delicious, but the mini fryer basket they were served in was more cute than practical, as many of the fries ended up on the table, and the seasonings were at the bottom of the basket. I had the lobster mac n cheese, which was good, but nothing to write home about--hard to taste lobster. My opinion is that the restaurant is overpriced, and it will probably be another few years before I get there again.

Rupps Downtown

Reviewed By roelskm - Sheboygan, WI

We visited Rupps Downtown with friends, and had the specials, NY Strip Steak, Sauerbraten, and Weinerschnitzel. All of the specials were fantastic. The steaks were very generous portions, and both were prepared as requested. The Sauerbraten was served with the traditional red cabbage and dumplings and was very good. The weinerschnitzel had 2 large pieces, and was served with red cabbage, another vegetable, and the choice of potatoes, as well as a cup of navy bean soup which was a very hearty soup. We also had the opportunity to partake of the salad bar with all of the meals. All of the salads were fresh, with each salad having a flavor of its own. All of us enjoyed our meals, and will definitely be coming back again.
