This restaurant is on a historic island. You need to take the ferry to go there (costs CHF 2.- per person both ways). For handiycaped people there is a special boat and a lift for wheel chairs to the restaurant. You should be anounced (phone +41 41 811 1757).
As a visitor you can climb the old tower and enjoy the great views around the island. There is also a chappel where still people get married.
The restaurant offers a small and a big menu card. There is something for everybody on the menu.

I have dined in this lovely restaurant several times now over the last two years.
The service is professional with just the right amount of friendliness and warmth. The service team can speak English and although most of the menus are in English as well as Swiss German, they are happy to help with any text that is not in both languages.
The menus and wine list are posted on the website of the hotel and are changed regularly.
The restaurant is divided into two sections, one half has a modern feel and the other is a more traditional Swiss style. You are able to choose which side you would like to be seated in.
The chef Helge Chlebnicek has created a range of menus (both fixed and A La Carte)which include traditional Swiss cuisine, Mediterranean-inspired French cuisine and the occasional Asian inspired dish. This may sound a little eclectic, but it all sits together very nicely indeed. He sources fresh, seasonal ingredients from very local suppliers where possible and it is of the highest quality.
The wine list consists of a range of wines that are high quality and not over priced.
Although there is no dedicated parking for this hotel, there is parking in the attractive town square right outside or in three car parks within walking distance.
This restaurant accepts Swiss luncheon vouchers.

The restaurant is a few miles away from the city of Schwyz aside the cantonal road. Basically in the middle of nowhere. As you enter the restaurant you immediately feel well: the dining-room is cosy with its wooden walls and nice set tables. The staff is immediately with you and provided great service throughout the meal. We opted for the short menu and from the appetizers to the main course, everything was just excellent: original, great products, right cooking. Cheese and Deserts were good as well but maybe a little less special.
Overall, a excellent experience.
The only negative point is that the owners are probably a bit shy and not really the best to enter into a conversation, making the whole atmosphere a bit cold (despite the very warm surroundings). And upon leaving the restaurant, we had to insist to say good-bye as nobody took the time to inquire if everything had gone well and/or to walk us to the door (despite a good tip!)

Since years the stubli is an icon. Location, food and ambiance makes me proud to be an Eidgenoss. Weiter so. Die Weinkarte, klein aber fein.

This traditional restaurant has now reopened as an Asian speciality restaurant serving dishes from China, Vietnam and Thailand. The food is excellent, the service very attentive, and the ambience super thanks to the good spacing of the tables. Open every day except Monday, both for lunch and dinner. The prices are very fair, and our evening that was an anniversary was super.

We visited the Point on a wonderful Saturday evening. The view from the Terrace is just stunning, overlooking the whole valley! The owner is very friendly and we were cordially welcomed. However, the waitress was an absolute disaster. Starting from her appearance, grumpy and unkempt, she was completely incompetent. She didn't know the menu nor the vine list. She was VERY slow. It took us 2.5 hours to get to our main course! The meals were ok but quite pricey for the quality. The duet of asparagus consisted of 4 pieces asparagus - quite modest for 20CHF! The fish was already sold out 20 min after opening the restaurant?!?
We feel a little bit sorry because the location is great, the owners are nice but overall it was a let-down.

We stopped for gelato on a hot August night after dinner. This gelato matched some of the best gelato we had in Italy the week before. The mint chip and dark chocolate were fabulous. Would definitely go back again.

This is a very traditional Caf¢ and Restaurant, as well as being a bakers shop. Everything is produced here, and the staff are happy to explain what the products are. Watch out for the specialities made with Chocolate from Felchlin, a local chocolate maker of world renown.
The restaurant is very busy from morning on, and there is a large Terrace overlooking the centre of the town.
Daily menus available at lunch-time.

With friends I climb the "Grosser Mythen" - a mighty rock in central Switzerland: 1898m high, 47 turns, 500m, an utterly steep and exposed mountain path and about 1.5 to 2 hours. The view from the top is stunning. I come across a young and fit looking American tourist. "You like it?" I ask her, "This is wonderful, exceptional, never experienced anything like that before", she answers. But be aware, like her you have to be fit, have a head for heights and wear good hiking boots; at the beginning of the path there is an alerting sign that says, this will be difficult. Nevertheless, on this sunny day, we shared the path with more hikers and the stone bench has already been taken, when we arrived at turn 29.
The Swiss flag on the top announces that the restaurant is open. It is a small hut offering self service. In Swiss German I ask, what "diverse PETs" means - this is how the hut keeper announces his selection of soft drinks served in PET bottles. In perfect Saxonian (from Germany) he answers: "Verschiedene PETs" - which is just another word for "diverse". We laugh, and I buy Apple Shorley in a PET bottle. He is a great surprise up here, someone who loves his job. A great welcome for the hikers. He is very proud of his Nussgipfel (croissants filled with nut purree) and also offers plain meals such as "Älplermakronen" (maccaroni mountain style with potatoes, bacon, ognions and apple purree) or "Cordon Bleu". There is a second path up to the top of the Grosser Mythen, the Chalberstöckliroute. It is classified as T5, much more difficult requiring mountaineering experience. The partially exposed, but well secured "normal path" with the 47 turns is used by about 30'000 tourists per year. I will surely come back here.
About saying more about it:
"Is this place for families" - Yes and no... not for hyperactive kids (remember that the path is exposed) and not for kids younger than six to seven. I would take a rope for small kids.
"Is this place for business?" - Not really, but the ascent to the top might provide a good team experience.
"Does this restaurant offer takeout/delivery/wait staff": This simply does not apply to this kind of hut on top of a mighty rock.

real italian pizza. thin, crispy, perfect toppings. the best pizza in the whole area. some seats outside, friendly and fast service. i love this place.
