The dining area of the hotel was spacious with nice views of the lake and the beautiful swimming pool.
The menu was varied and the service was the best of the trip. The fresh fruit was incredible and the coffee was very good and refills quickly taken care of.
Nice quiet oasis along the Pan American Highway.

Charlie Restaurant

I've seen it called the Charlie Shop because there's a gift shop next to it. The menu says Charlie Restaurant. It was in one of our Panama guide books.

I have passed this restaurant for several years and made the decision to stop. The restaurant has an extensive menu. Some of the meals seem pricey but without trying am not sure of the value. I ordered the corvina grilled accompanied with fresh vegetables. The restaurant was busy and I had a wait of about 20 minutes. There were two TVs to help pass the time. The meal was as ordered but the corvina was not hot. The vegetable were hot. Rather than wait another 20 minutes I chose to eat the cold fish. I will give the restaurant another try on a future trip thru Santiago.
The restaurant was very clean with nice large wood tables and cushioned wooden chairs. Also outside Seating.

Hotel Mykonos

This restaurant is part of the Hotel Mykonos. Hotel guests can have their breakfasts here in the morning and it’s delicious and filling.
Then there is the interesting and extensive a la carte menu which is great during the week. Unfortunately on Friday and Saturday evenings they only offered a buffet and we could not order of the menu. We went somewhere else for dinner on those nights.
I would dine here again…..Monday through Thursday.

Good McDonalds. The play area for kids is always in good condition, the food is fine, the place is always clean and everything is stocked or full at the table with napkins and ketchup etc. Usually they also have newspapers one can read if they like. Lots of parking at the McDonalds and easy access to the InterAmericana Highway.

This is a fast food Italian place that's not that fast and not really sure if you would consider some of it food. I had the lasagna. It came in the foil package - which seemed to be microwaved. The garlic bread was chewy. There were screaming kids everywhere. The only reason I am rating it a 2 instead of a 1 is because my partner said his food was OK and our friend said hers was decent.

Restaurante Daytona's

Reviewed By gazoonc - Greensboro, North Carolina

My wife and I have dined at Restaurante Daytona's over several years when we visit Santiago. They used to be next to the Hotel Gran David many years ago and have been reviewed by a number of Panama travel guides in the past. The owner is a Greek immigrant, Don Antonio who in addition to Spanish also speaks English. This family restaurant is located in the outskirts of Santiago off the Pan-American highway (Interamericana) near the public hospital in the community of San Antonio. The building where the restaurant resides is decorated with a tasteful sailor/marine theme, starting at the driveway's entrance with a lighthouse structure. Our favorite dishes tend to be Greek including Greek salad, keftedes, hummus, pita bread, gyros & mousaka; although we have also tried steaks and pizza. Everything is absolutely delicious. Sometimes the service can be a bit slow, but it was worth the wait everytime. Another thing you must now is that they do not serve any alcoholic beverages, and they are only open for dinner. This is our favorite spot to eat in Santiago, and we look forward to our next visit!

We make this trip fairly often and finally decided to try something new other then KFC, Pizza Hut & McDonald's off the Interamericana. We were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem just by the Subway. They have a changing lunch menu but also have pre-made sealed bags of their great bbq including brisket, ribs & pulled pork. And of course as you can tell by the name of the place they also always have a great selection of desserts from cookies to pies…etc.

I enjoyed the most delicious fried corvina last Saturday night at this delightful restaurant. The staff is friendly, the food delicious, tartar sauce amazing and everything is home made. A diverse menu (sushi, wings, pasta) with a global beer selection. Surely the most hip place in this simple town. About one klik south of McDonalds on Hwy. 1. Use caution with the sushi since we think its from imitation fish; fine for me but my wife had a reaction.

We happened upon this great little new restaurant just off the main square in Santiago, Panama. What a wonderful surprise ! I had jambalaya that was absolutely wonderful.
The Owners both speak english and we had a wonderful meal and great conversation. We told everyone we met during our travels in Panama about the great food and if you are in Santiago DO NOT MISS this little slice of food heaven.
Fresh seafood and fruits and vegetables and homemade Deserts.
I believe open only for lunch and dinner at this point.
