Sulyap Gallery Cafe

The owners of this restaurant bought century-old houses from different places and rebuilt it inside a compund which they made into a restaurant and a bed and breakfast. The cuisine is a mix of Western and Traditional Filipino.

Ate breakfast in this resto. The place is rustic, with Gardens and antique decors and architecture. The materials used to build the place came from torn down antique houses.
We ordered Lucban longganisa breakfast and it was great. Maybe a bit oily though. Their cafe americano is good too.
The downside is their service, the waiters weren’t that attentive to our needs. Maybe a bit busy or under staffed?
All in all, a good dining experience. You can go around the place and take pictures. They have an antique museum too.

on the way home from our day trip to laiya, batangas, our family had dinner here.
surprisingly, the food is good and the price is affordable. they have big servings and worth what you pay for.
the service is good. the minor setbacks are: the a/c is not that cool, no high chairs available, and the comfort room is communal.

PatisTito Garden Cafe

PatisTito Garden Cafe is your destination for a memorable encounter with Philippine culture through Filipino food in our unique version of a Filipino home. Using only fresh and locally sourced ingredients, we serve slow-cooked meals within a verdant garden nurtured for almost 25 years. Established in April 2011 by Patis Pamintuan Tesoro (designer, gardener, cook, artist, crafts person, environmentalist) and Tito Tesoro (businessman, lawyer, teacher), PatisTito Garden Cafe is located in San Pablo City, Laguna and is open to everyone who desires to be reacquainted with Philippine heritage through food, nature, art, and architecture.

My husband and I decided to do a culinary tour in the South, starting in PatisTito Cafe in San Pablo, Hacienda Escudero in Tiaong, Palaisdaan in Tayabas and Buddy's restaurant in Lucban, Quezon. PatisTito has an artsy and nature's ambiance. Quite charming, with it's artworks, Filipiniana dresses on display and landscape around the restaurant. We ordered ensaladang crispy dilis, pork balls, beef steak and binagoongang baboy. The pork balls were undercooked; the beef steak is quite oily and the binagoongang baboy is a bit dry as if it has been re-heated several times. The food is quite pricey and I must say not worth the price you are paying for. If you will just travel to San Pablo to try the restaurant for its food, then it would not be worth the trip. There are other restaurants that are near Manila and would have better-tasting menu. The dishes in the menu do not look the same as the actual food served. You can check out the pictures attached to this review and the pictures of the food in their menu as advertised in their website, for you to be able to compare and see the difference. I will not definitely come back.

Si Christina is a restaurant that I recommend you to try when you visit San Pablo City, Laguna. It is not hard to find. Located at the heart of the city within the vicinity of the central plaza right across the Cathedral of San Pablo.
They offer different kinds of cheesecake. We tried their blueberry cheesecake and another one drizzled with orange. It's not overpowering nor it is too sweet. Just the right combination. We also ordered coffee and it went well with the cheesecake.
They have other offerings as well. It's a mix of Filipino and American food and there are also pasta dishes to choose from. They also offer Mexican food.

The service staff are also accommodating. I will definitely visit them again and try their other dishes.

I really enjoyed the food. A friend of mine recommended this resto, she said that the Pancit Wrap is one of their specialty. I became curious and look for this place. The resto is small and cannot locate it right away. The ambiance is good, it's cold and clean. We tried the pancit wrap for only 25 pesos and Quesadillas for 70 pesos. Pancit wrap is bigger that I thought, wrap in lumpia wrap and fried, with sweet and sour vinegar. While the Quesadilla is sliced into 4 with a thousand Island dip. Presentation is nice and it taste awesome especially the Quesadillas. The soft taco is perfect and the taste is simply amazing! On our next visit, I'll try the pasta and the wraps.

Cusina de Sabang 602

Reviewed By Nostromo - London, United Kingdom

Bunot Lake, one of seven in San Pablo City, has experienced a revival of fortunes over recent years, and today it is possibly one of the best of the bunch. It looks clean, it benefits from cooling breezes, it appears to have less commercial development, and free from the eyesores and concrete un-anaesthetic building monstrosities which are currently blighting it's six siblings. It's a sad fact that San Pablo's seven lakes are slowly but surely being marred by insensitive and inconsiderate developments which are severely detrimental to their natural surroundings.
Cusina de Sabang is an extremely pleasant restaurant which takes advantage of its lakeside setting, and sits charmingly, discreetly, and quietly on it's location. It's not difficult to reach, only difficult to find, even though it is just two or three kilometres outside the city proper. Still, once found it cannot be lost.
Serving rather limited fayre, the dishes are indigenous, local, and very reasonably priced. The tables and Seating are more akin to picnic benches, so comfort is not a priority – practical but basic. This shouldn't distract from the general ambience, and the view is grand, but it's worth noting if one of your guests may be elderly or infirm. Luxury is not in the lexicon here. Nevertheless, the staff are very attentive and efficient once you get their attention, otherwise I found a general air of complacency and poor social skills with a detached attitude. To give benefit to the doubt, it may be a cultural thing, and the staff may well not wish to impose, and perhaps only wish to be requested when their attention is required. Some customers will find this preferable, because there is nothing worse than waiters breathing down your neck every five minutes or attempting inane social chit-chat, whilst others may consider it a sign of poor service. It's horses for courses.
There are several covered areas with draping which are important on a very hot day, and free wifi is provided. It's a good signal and definitely an asset. Indeed, it is a lovely place to spend a relaxed hour or two, in company or without, with a great view, internet and a drink. Unfortunately when I visited they didn't seem to have any cold drinks, but an ice bucket is provided, although putting ice in a glass of warm beer is not a great selling point, no matter how much ice is provided. Also their isn't much point in buying a bottle of mineral water, if it will subsequently be impaired with frozen tap water. This is something that the management need to address.
If I had one severe criticism it would be that visitors, particularly western visitors, would be disturbed on arrival by two dogs kept in a very confined cage under a blazing sun. I appreciate that they are there for security, but it is very cruel and inhumane. It is not a great first impression. I would suggest to the owner that if dogs must be kept then at least give them a kennel that affords them some space and welfare, and not pack them together like a pair of sardines which must drive them crazy.
Overall I commend this place even though it has some questionable peccadilloes. A little more thought and consideration, more comfortable Seating, less complacency and a little more catering expertise and staffing skills, and it really could be much greater than the sum of it's parts.
