Worth seaking out. Dined with 8 Austrian sailors.Had octopus salad, octopus patties, shrimp, risotto and goulash style vegetable starters. The octopus salad was very good. The rest were OK with one of the best octopus salads so far.
The main was grouper, John Dory and seabass grilled. Wonderfully fresh with a perfect preparation. These fish were fresh; one was still breathing.
Great local chocolate desert and Tiramisu.
Perfect prep, clean simple seasoning and great service. Strongly recommended.

Now I'm not going to rave about this little restaurant. They didn't do anything 'wrong' as such and maybe it's because we've been blown away by the food and service everywhere else .... but this was average. My first choice restaurant was packed so this was a reluctant second.
We took a seat outside at the side of the path/ roadway which was nice enough. We were offered menus three times.
The guy that took our order was very knowledgable about the menu. I'd taken ages deciding as I'm gluten and dairy free and chose the fish stew with beans only to be told as I ordered it had all gone so that was annoying!
Our drinks and bread basket took an age to arrive and when they did the very flustered waiter was apologetic.
My husbands soup arrived immediately and was good - he thoroughly enjoyed the vegetable soup.
Mains arrived almost immediately after the soup was cleared which my husband was surprised by as there was no natural break in between courses.
I had shrimp and cuttlefish risotto which was pretty average - the tiniest bits of fish ever!!
My husband had slow cooked beef with gnocchi which he thoroughly enjoyed
We didn't stay for dessert because we fancied a walk to the bakery in the harbour!

Along the quay side in Vis you will find this very nice restaurant. Super friendly and knowledgable service. Seafood platter as starter and catch of the day (octopus and swordfish) as main. All very good! Again accompanied by a good Posip white wine. Highly recommendable!

Romantic dinner in Vis. The setting is a charming and romantic garden. They don't have traditional Croatian barbeque like many other restaurants on Vis island, it is more a fusion of other Mediterranean cuisines. The food highlight was the beet salad appetizer that included roasted beet, goat cheese and fig with shavings of nuts and dehydrated olives. It was fresh and flavorful, and I could probably eat it every day for the rest of my life.

Expensive. French fries 5€. Kalamari 18€, less than 200g portion. In total 50€ for two portions of kalamari 2 french fries and 0,25l vine.

Beautiful courtyard, very friendly staff but terrible kitchen (apparently chef quit today but regardless, waited an hour for an appetizer and half an hour more for main course).

Returning to this restaurant after three years ago with very fond memories, we were afraid we may be disappointed this time. But it is still excellent, just as we remembered it. Yes, they only have a few items on the menu, but whatever they cook up is the tastiest on the island. The ambiance is laid-back and friendly. Views are great and it's very quiet and peaceful. Perfect choice for a slow, lazy lunch after a morning on the Srbrena Beach.

We had an amazing dinner here, lovely meats all cooked slowly in lovely juices. The setting is very nice and they came to collect us and drop us off in town which is handy (its about a ten minute drive). The service was swift and staff were really friendly, explaining how they cook the food and showed us the outdoor kitchen. Roki's was recommended to us and really glad we went.

Frutarija is very nice place with very cute decoration and a wonderfull view on the bay of Vis. They are offering an unconvetional menu, wich is great. Here you can have a lot of different fresh juices and some avocado toast and several different sandwiches. I tried avodaco toast wich was fantastic with extra Turkey. The meal is very small but enough for brekfast. I also had tea and coffe. Service was good.
The place is very nice to visit but the prices are far too high. I payed for the tost alone more than 70 kunas. In my oppinion that is too much eaven with the fact that you are in a first row to the sea. Definitively visit but only for a coffe of a glass of wine.
